Post-traumatic dislocation of an intraocular lens (IOL) is a serious complication, especially after a blunt trauma because the posterior chamber lenses can potentially dislocate subconjunctively. We report a case of subconjunctival dislocation of a Kelman multiflex AC IOL. Such cases require immediate wound repair with IOL explantation to prevent endophthalmitis.

The clinical and histopathological findings in a 40-year-old man with a lacrimal sac tumor are reported. Although the clinical history indicated a lacrimal sac obstruction and recurrent dacryocystitis, the lesion was diagnosed by light microscopy as a squamous cell carcinoma.

Thirty patients with mild medial ectropion of the lower lid were treated by Argon green laser.A diamond-shaped area (6 × 4mm in size) on the medial part of the tarsal conjunctiva of the lower lid was burnt with overlapping spots until white blanching and visible contraction of tissue were seen. The apex of the diamond was kept 4mm below the punctal opening. After an average follow-up of 6 months, functional success was achieved in 22/30 eyes. Anatomical success in terms of repositioning of the punctum was attained in 24/30 eyes. The only side effect noted was a mild burning sensation of the eyes lasting for two hours after the procedure. This is the authors’ initial experience with a somewhat new and easy procedure to treat mild medial ectropion of the lower lid that can be performed on an outpatient basis.

Neurofibroma is an extremely rare neural tumor of the lacrimal sac.We present a case of neurofibroma of the lacrimal sac in a 45-year-old lady. Based on the history of intermittent epiphora, presence of a mass in the lacrimal sac region, dacryocystogram suggestive of space occupying lesion within the lacrimal sac and computed tomographic image of a tumor lying in the lacrimal fossa region, a tentative diagnosis of lacrimal sac neoplasm was made. Excision of the tumor with repair of the lacrimal sac was performed. Histopathology proved it to be neurofibroma of the lacrimal sac. Until now, only four cases have been reported worldwide. The paucity of reported cases limits our knowledge regarding the natural course, treatment, results and prognosis of this tumor.

Central serous chorioretinopathy (CSCR) has been associated with a number of psychological factors. We evaluated the psychological profile in 30 patients with acute CSCR and 30 age controls. CSCR patients had a higher proneness to stress, whereas no difference in psychological coping resources and degree of depression were found. We conclude that proneness to stress might predispose patients to acute CSCR.

Ocular cysticercosis is one of the most common parasitic infections of the eye in humans. Although the adult pork tapeworm, Taenia solium, resides in the lumen of the intestine, the only structural element of an adult worm is usually found within a tissue cyst in the eye, its adenexa, or other places in the body with a single invaginated scolex. An unusual case is described in which a 13- to 14-mm live cysticercus larva was found, removed from the eye, and confirmed by histopathologic examination.

Purpose: Patients with endophthalmitis have extensive fibrinous exudates in the anterior chamber. Clearance of these exudates in pseudophakic patients during vitrectomy is difficult. We evaluated the results of the pars plana approach for clearing these exudates. Material and Methods: Eighteen patients with pseudophakic endophthalmitis underwent clearance of anterior chamber exudates through the pars plana approach after initial creation of a peripheral iridectomy with a vitrectome. Results: The exudates were adequately cleared in all 18 patients with good posterior segment visualization during vitrectomy. Minor punctate iris bleeds (4 patients), intraoperative dislocation of the intraocular lens (IOL) (1 patient) and postoperative dislocation of the IOL following blunt trauma, 9 months after vitrectomy (1 patient) were the complications noted. Conclusion: This technique is simple, safe and helps clearing anterior chamber exudates. It also permits excellent visualization during vitrectomy for pseudophakic endophthalmitis.
