The synthesis and resolution of 4,5,6,7-tetrahydro-6-[4-(2-pyridinyl)-1-piperazinyl]-2-benzothiazolamine (7), a centrally active dopamine (DA) agonist, are described. Unlike the structurally related 2-aminotetralins, both enantiomers of this compound possess comparable dopaminergic efficacy.
