Experience in foreign language teaching with ICT support

Sarka Hubackova; Marketa Ruzickova

Abstract The foreign language teaching using e-learning usually catches on more slowly than the teaching of sciences or technological subjects. We therefore consider the most suitable method of language teaching the blended learning; i.e. the combination of the traditional, face-to-face and on-line teaching. For the foreign language teaching we have prepared both the courses using the blended learning and the courses for a distance education. We also have some experience in the teaching of interuniversity studies, but only distance on-line teaching. At our faculty we have now prepared some on-line German and English courses for beginners and for advanced students. We also offer the courses of general, business and banking English and German. The foreign language on-line courses enable to practise individually, for example, some grammar phenomena with the use of a key as a feedback. Moreover, they help to enlarge the vocabulary, give the possibility of using the listening texts and working with a foreign language text. We consider the use of modern technologies very useful. The on-line courses are also useful in the foreign language teaching.

eLearning and its use for grammar practicing in foreign languages teaching

Sarka Hubackova

Nowadays the use of ICT and especially online teaching became common part of education. Also at our Faculty we have been using ICT for many years. The first online courses of German we created in 2003 and we have been continuously improving and developing them since that time. After several years of validation of courses that we created, we tried a small study, to demonstrate how effective the use of ICT in teaching is. The aim of research was to identify the relationship of students to new methods of teaching, how often they use ICT to study the German language and finally to determine with what level of knowledge of foreign languages students come from high schools and how their knowledge improves after one semester.

New methods in German language teaching

Sarka Hubackova

The article focuses on the characteristics of modern teaching methods in foreign language teaching at the university. The forms and methods of education are specific means of educational activities and so they are the deciding factors of the effectiveness of the teaching. We tried a small survey among our students to compare the effectiveness of some methods and their popularity among students. We compared the popularity of face-to-face teaching to method of blended learning for full-time students and distance students.

Specialities of income taxing according to the Czech legal frame in HR systems

Marketa Ruzickova; Sarka Hubackova

Abstract This paper concentrates on a specific part of the income taxing question, which is the personal income from a dependent activity and office-holders’ emoluments and how it is captured in the HR system. According to the Czech law, employee income taxing, which is quite complicated and tightly legally bounded, is one of the most important employer’s responsibilities. The incorrect income tax amount could be punished with a fine. Careful recognition of different income categories is the key question for a modern HR system for wages accounting. The procedure of tax calculation begins with the income type resolution, continues with consideration of all the specific conditions connected with the employee as a tax payer and terminates in the prescription of the net wage. The main topic consists in whether and to what degree the calculation of the tax liability could be executed by the system automatically.
