Pt-Rh Alloys: Investigation of Creep Rate and Rupture Time at High Temperatures

Abstract The results of experimental investigation of creep rate and rupture time of the alloys of Pt-Rh system are presented in this paper. Selected alloys with 7–40 wt.-% Rh content were examined using a universal device for tensile testing of materials at high temperatures, and monitoring structure changes of the samples by electron microscopy. Investigations were performed in the temperature range between 1200°C and 1700°C at a stress between 2 MPa and 15 MPa.

ParCoLab: A Parallel Corpus for Serbian, French and English

ParCoLab is a trilingual parallel corpus containing texts in Serbian, French and English. It is developed at the CLLE-ERSS research unit (UMR 5263 CNRS) at the University of Toulouse, France, in collaboration with the Department of Romance Studies at the University of Belgrade, Serbia. Serbian being one of the less-resourced European languages, this is an important step towards the creation of freely accessible corpora and NLP tools for this language. Our main goal is to provide the scientific community with a high-quality resource that can be used in a wide range of applications, such as contrastive linguistic studies, NLP research, machine and computer assisted translation, translation studies, second language learning and teaching, and applied lexicography. The corpus currently contains 7.1M tokens mainly from literary works, but corpus extension and diversification efforts are ongoing. ParCoLab can be queried online and a part of it is available for download.

Effects of recrystallization annealing on mechanical properties of cold-rolled PdNi5 wires

The aim of this investigation was to determine the influence of the recrystallization temperature and recrystallization time on the microstructure and mechanical properties of the PdNi5 alloy subjected to cold deformation in the process of rolling at a constant deformation degree. The samples of PdNi5 alloy were recrystallization annealed within the temperature range of 200-1000oC and annealing time range of 20-45 min after cold rolling with deformation degree of 97%. The tensile test was carried out using universal material testing machine. The hardness was also measured on the combined device for measuring Vickers and Brinell hardness. Metallographic observations were performed on an optical microscope. The analysis of the results of investigations regarding the microstructural changes and corresponding mechanical properties of cold-rolled PdNi5 strips shows that annealing temperature of 500oC was sufficient to activate the energy for various recrystallization processes causing a change in the mechanical properties of cold-rolled PdNi5 strips. The annealing time, at constant annealing temperature, almost did not affect a recrystallization temperature and the mechanical properties of the cold-rolled PdNi5 strips.
