literature at the University of Leuven and has published widely on twentieth-century European avant-gardes. His forthcoming book is entitled The European Avant-Gardes, 1905–1935 (Edinburgh University Press). Anke Gilleir teaches Modern German literature at the University of Leuven. Her research interests are German women writers, gender and authorship, politics and literature.
