Effects of aging on Tc are investigated for YBa2Cu3O7−y irradiated by electron beam (EB). The aging increases Tc. The maximum T0c (zero resistivity, maxT0c) depends on the T0c before irradiation. The higher the T0c, the higher the maxT0c becomes. The effects are explained by x‐ray diffraction peaks.Effects of aging on {ital T}{sub {ital c}} are investigated for YBa{sub 2}Cu{sub 3}O{sub 7{minus}{ital y}} irradiated by electron beam (EB). The aging increases {ital T}{sub {ital c}}. The maximum {ital T}{sup 0}{sub {ital c}} (zero resistivity, {sup max}{ital T}{sup 0}{sub {ital c}}) depends on the {ital T}{sup 0}{sub {ital c}} before irradiation. The higher the {ital T}{sup 0}{sub {ital c}}, the higher the {sup max}{ital T}{sup 0}{sub {ital c}} becomes. The effects are explained by x-ray diffraction peaks.

Abstract Effects of electron beam (EB) irradiation on Tc are investigated for YBa2Cu3O7 − y. The aging at room temperature increases Tc after EB irradiation. The maximum Tc (mid point, max{T}c) depends on Tc before irradiation. The higher Tc, the higher maxTc becomes. Using X-ray diffraction analysis, these effects are explained.

Abstract Electron beam radiation enhances T c for high T c YBa 2 Cu 3 O 7− y . On the other hand, aging at room temperature decreases T c . The value approaches that of before the radiation.

N 2 implantation increases T c under low acceleration energy for high T c YBa 2 Cu 3 O x . The maximum value of T coff is shown at 500 sec of the implantation time. The influence of the current density on T coff is obtained. T coff of the implanted sample above 5 mA mm −2 of the current density remarkably approaches that before the implantation. The maximum T coff value and its increase by N 2 implantation are 96.8 K and 4.1 K at 5×10 −3 mA mm −2 of the detectable minimum current density

Abstract Since excess Ar ion-implantation tremendously decreases T c , a recovering process is investigated for high T c YBa 2 Cu 3 O 7 − y .Aging recovers T c of the excess implanted specimens. It is especially that T c increases beyond the value before implantation. Th maximum increased value of the offset temperature is 3.3 K. Excess aging decreases T c . The T c value of the recovered sample approaches that before the implantation. The apparent activation energy of the recovered process is 121 kJ/mole. It approximately agrees with the activation energy of the oxygen diffusivity in YBa 2 Cu 3 O 7− y .

Effect of aging on Tc and Jc are investigate for YBa2Cu3O7-y sample which Tc mid values are from 90 to 92 K. Although the Tc change cannot be found of the YBa2Cu3O7-y sample just after the electron beam(EB) irradiation, the aging increases the Tc and Jc values.

A rapid rate (Rs) is observed by a helium ion etching. Rs depends on the etching time. Tc change by the etching is studied for a high Tc YBa2Cu3O7-y. A tremendous Tc decrease is caused by a excess helium ion etching.
