Control of a magnetic levitation system via output feedback based two DOF control with an adaptive predictive feedforward input

This paper deals with control system design problem of a magnetic levitation system and a two degree of freedom output feedback control based on augmented systems ASPRness with a parallel feedforward compensator (PFC) is considered in order to control the magnetic levitation system. It is well known that one can design a stable output feedback control system with a high gain feedback if the considered controlled system satisfies almost strictly positive real (ASPR) conditions. However, in most cases, one has to design an ASPR augmented system with a PFC. It will be shown that by introducing an adaptive predictive control as a feedforward input, one can attain a better control performance for actual output in the augmented control system with the PFC. The application of the method to practical control of magnetic levitation system shows the usefulness of the proposed method to a fast moving mechanical system.

Combustion Control System Design of Diesel Engine via ASPR based Output Feedback Control Strategy with a PFC

In this paper, a design method of an output feedback control system with a simple feedforward input for a combustion model of diesel engine will be proposed based on the almost strictly positive real-ness (ASPR-ness) of the controlled system for a combustion control of diesel engines. A parallel feedforward compensator (PFC) design scheme which renders the resulting augmented controlled system ASPR will also be proposed in order to design a stable output feedback control system for the considered combustion model. The effectiveness of our proposed method will be confirmed through numerical simulations.

Adaptive output feedback control with one-step output predictive forward input for discrete-time systems with a relative degree of zero

In this paper, we propose a two degree of freedom adaptive output feedback control system design scheme for discrete-time systems having ASPR property itself. One-step output predictive scheme, which is utilized as a feedforward control input in order to improve the control performance in the transient state, is proposed for systems having ASPR property. The stability of the control system can be guaranteed by ASPR based adaptive output feedback control system with a PFC.

Adaptive output feedback control with predictive feedforward input based on extended output estimator

In this paper, a two-degree-of-freedom adaptive output feedback control system design scheme with a predictive control input as feedforward control input and with an almost strictly positive real (ASPR) based adaptive output feedback control as feedback control is proposed. An extended output estimator for systems with uncertain disturbances will be proposed, and based on the obtained output estimator, a robust output predictor with respect to uncertain disturbances is designed for predictive feedforward control. The stability of the obtained control system is guaranteed via ASPR based adaptive output feedback. The effectiveness of the proposed adaptive predictive control will be confirmed through numerical simulations.
