Several direct shear test devices are used to evaluate the shear bond strength of tack coat materials in interlayer bonding in asphalt pavements. Some devices have the capability of evaluating strength in direct shear with normal confinement, whereas other devices do not have that capability or use passive confinement to evaluate the interlayer bond strength. The literature indicates that interlayer bond strength increases with the application of normal confinement. However, the question remains as to the level of normal confinement, if any, that should be used in direct shear testing to evaluate the interlayer bond strength for specification acceptance or design. This study presents a methodology to interpret laboratory bond strength test results in relation to the state of stress at the layer interface in a representative pavement section. The results confirm the importance of normal confinement for shear bond strength evaluation and provide guidance for the selection of the appropriate level of normal confinement.

The study of the compatibility of EPUB DRM, granted by the Korea Copyright Commission, as a CT R & D project (Project Title: Development of standard reference software technology for the International Standard EPUB-based eBook DRM) developed standards such as profile standards for encryption, digital signature and authentication certificates and standards for technical terms of rights information. In 2012, these four standards have been established as the Korean Industrial Standards under the names of `Encryption specification for EPUB DRM`, `the Digital signature specification for EPUB DRM`, `the Certificate specification for EPUB DRM`, and `Definitions of Right Terms for EPUB DRM` through the ODPF(Open Digital Standardization Forum) and the TTA(Telecommunications Technology Association). In spite of the establishment of the eBook DRM standards, however, the absence of the standard technology which supports the compatibility for issues and changes of licenses makes it unable to use eBooks served by different eBook distributors. This study tries to investigate technological approaches to methods of license issues supporting eBook DRM compatibility on the basis of the above-mentioned four EPUB DRM standards and to provide an industrially accepted technological model.

Abstract Service Oriented Architecture(SOA) is a flexible structure which does not affect other services even when a specific service is changed. It provides the platform with neutral interfaces independent of any others, where services are loosely coupled in a standard way. While ESB (Enterprise Service Bus) is a key technology for service-oriented architecture, few research and development for ESB has been done. In this paper, we designed and implemented the key components of ESB such as mediation service, message oriented middleware service, operation service, monitoring service, application connection service, and database connection service. The performance evaluation was done by measuring the message processing time for the number of messages with various sizes. Asphalt pavement structures are composed of different asphalt concrete layers with surface layers that are bonded together with a tack coat. Thus, interlayer bonding between pavement layers is a key factor that affects the performance of any pavement structure. However, relatively little attention has been given to the characterization and modeling of interlayer bonding or to associated test methods that can be used in the laboratory to evaluate the bond strength between asphalt concrete layers. This paper presents a test method for evaluating interface bonding between asphalt concrete layers in shear mode. Moreover, the time–temperature superposition (t-TS) principle with growing damage in shear failure mode is examined to characterize the shear bond strength of asphalt concrete pavements for a wide range of temperatures. The subsequent validation of the t-TS principle allows the shear bond strength between asphalt layers at various temperatures and loading rates to be determined with only three or four shear tests. Comparison of the shear stress values calculated from a mechanistic pavement analysis program for a critical condition with the shear strength values at the condition determined from the prediction model developed in this study can provide the foundation for a mechanistic design to prevent shear bond failure between asphalt layers.

In order to identify scanned cartoon books which are illegally distributed, the copyright project granted from the Korea Copyright Commission (Project title: Identification and Copy Protection Technology of Scanned Text/Comic Books) secured basic solutions for scanned cartoon books. The purpose of this paper is to propose a performance evaluation standard with essential items required for developing technology to identify whether a comic book is illegally scanned and distributed. For this purpose, types of scanned comic books which are illegally distributed through webhard sites are analysed, the transformed factors are classified and major detail items of the factors are identified.

The study of the compatibility of EPUB DRM, granted by the Korea Copyright Commission, as a CT R & D project (Project Title: The Development of the standard reference software technology for International Standard EPUB-based eBook DRM) developed standards such as profile standards for encryption digital signature and authentication certificates and standards for technical terms of rights information. In 2012, these four standards have been established as the Korean Industrial Standards under the names of `Encryption specification for EPUB DRM,` `the Digital signature specification for EPUB DRM,` `the Certificate specification for EPUB DRM,` and `Definitions of Right Terms for EPUB DRM` through the ODPF(Open Digital Standardization Forum) and the TTA(Telecommunications Technology Association). The research project also proposed standards of ebook DRM license protocols in order for the four standards to practically apply to ebook DRM compatibility. It is necessary for technology standards to require a compatibility standard test process for testing whether implementations which were developed on the basis of the standard specification, comply with standards. This study suggests an automated compatible standard test method and a test model under the ebook DRM standard technical specification.

In order to solve the problems that fingerprinting technologies and image identification technologies for digital music and videos identification scanned have not yet been enough to identify scanned cartoon books, the copyright project granted from the Korea Copyright Commission(Project title: Identification and Copy Protection Technology of Scanned Text/Comic Books) secured basic solutions for scanned cartoon books. The first result of the research project in 2013 was focused on the identification technology applied to abnormally scanned cartoon books. As subsequent research for the project, studies in the year of 2014 has been to provide solutions to identify cartoon books which abnormally scanned and occurred with transformations and distortions and solutions to protect the system from trials to devitalize functions of the identification system through various attacks. This paper is to propose a model for a system for identifying abnormally scanned cartoon books as a way of enhancing the identification rates for identifying abnormal bookscans and transformation attacks.

Abstract The debonding distress in asphalt pavement structures is a critical problem that affects the performance of asphalt concrete pavements. It occurs at the layer interface due to the poor bond quality between adjacent asphalt concrete layers and/or when stresses at the layer interface exceed the strengths of the material at the interface. The debonding of the adjacent layers, especially the top surface layer of an asphalt pavement, is a contributing factor to the premature cracking of pavements. Hence, the debonding distress can lead to a reduction in the life of the pavement. This paper presents an analytical and experimental framework to evaluate the potential for debonding at the layer interface of asphalt concrete pavements. Computational analysis was performed to determine the critical stress and strain states in layered asphalt pavements under moving vehicle loads using the Layered ViscoElastic pavement analysis for Critical Distresses (LVECD) computer program developed at North Carolina State University. This computational analysis enables a greater understanding of the critical stress that is involved in debonding and the ways that such stress is affected by pavement design parameters and environmental conditions. In addition, a prediction model was developed that can determine the shear bond strength at the interface of asphalt concrete layers with different tack coat materials at various temperatures, loading rates and normal confining stresses. The systematic and mechanistic framework developed in this study employs the maximum shear ratio concept as a shear failure criterion and provides a tool to evaluate the effects of various loading, environmental and pavement factors on the debonding potential of asphalt pavements. The overall advantages of the mechanistic framework and approach using the LVECD analysis tool will help lead to better understanding of the debonding mechanism, proper selection of the tack coats, and economic benefit in highway pavement maintenance and rehabilitation costs.

This study aims to develop sound ecosystem of scanned cartoons and books through the effective identification technology developed as a part of the project granted from the Korea Copyright Commission (Project title: Identification and Copy Protection Technology of Scanned Text/Comic Books). This study shows a model integrating the scanned book identification system with the existing system that identifies scanned cartoons. The model suggested in this study is expected to give a help in reducing the author`s damages due to the indiscriminate illegal reproduction, which tends to expand with high quality scanners and editing softwares.

In order to guarantee the compatibility of e-Book viewers based on EPUB 3, IDPF launched Readium SDK v1.0 in January, 2015, which was followed by research on the implementation of Readium LCP specifications for user-friendly DRM functions. The complexity of the Readium SDK, however, makes difficulties in interlocking Readium SDK with LCP modules. Moreover, from the perspective of the Readium SDK, which tries to maintain the architecture, independently of any specific DRM technologies, the strong interlock with LCP, as a one DRM, is not desirable. This study represents a Content Protection Framework Model for compatibility of Readium-SDK-based e-Book DRM in order to hide the complexity of Readium SDK and implement an easy interlock between plural DRM and Readium SDK.
