Espacios públicos en el Camino de Santiago Francés: Cien plazas en la provincia de León

In the Camino de Santiago urban and rural public spaces are rich in cultural heritage and landscape, but they are poorly known and poorly protected. However they are the best observatory to learn processes and make diagnoses. This article, made with fieldwork, planning documents and bibliography, explores the network of public spaces associated with the pilgrimage route in the province of Leon. Their number, quality and variety, help better understand and manage cultural resources. The comparison allows to know the pattern of recent developments by category, and to detect problems in the historical route.
