Darwin and Religious Development

IT Is the thesis of this essay that a lead given by Darwin and Spencer a hundred years ago is crucial to the proper understanding of religious development in the human person but that we are now only on the threshold of pursuing that kind of understanding. Thus the discussion, although containing historical aspects, attempts primarily to be constructive in character and sets forth hypothetically some principles upon which better understanding of religious development may be pursued.
