3‐Chloroacetophenone 2,4‐dinitrophenylhydrazone

Zheng Fan; Shang Shan; Wei-Xiao Hu; Duan-Jun Xu

Crystals of the title compound, C14H11ClN4O4, were obtained from a condensation reaction of m-chloroxadacetoxadphenone and 2,4-dixadnitroxadphenylxadhydrazine. The two benzene rings of the title molxadecule have a dihedral angle of 16.17u2005(6)°. Within the dixadnitroxadphenyl moiety, the distances of 1.422u2005(3) and 1.415u2005(3)u2005A for the C—C bonds close to the imine group are appreciably longer than the average distance of 1.376u2005(3)u2005A for other aromatic C—C bonds in the same benzene ring. The overlapped arrangement of chloroxadphenyl rings of neighbouring molxadecules shows the existence of a π–π stacking interaction.

Methyl β-N-phenylmethylenedithiocarbazate

Shang Shan; Yan-Ling Zhang; Duan-Jun Xu

Crystals of the title compound, C9H10N2S2, were obtained from a condensation reaction of methyl dithioxadcarbazate and benzaldehyde. The planar dithioxadcarbazate unit is tilted with respect to the phenyl plane with a dihedral angle of 10.96u2005(12)°. Interxadmolecular N—H⋯S hydrogen bonding stabilizes the crystal structure. A C—H⋯π interxadaction is also observed in the crystal structure.

Methyl β-N-(3-nitrophenylmethylene)dithiocarbazate

Yan-Ling Zhang; Shang Shan; Duan-Jun Xu

Crystals of the title compound, C9H9N3O2S2, were obtained from a condensation reaction of S-methyl dixadthioxadcarbxadazaxadte and 3-nitroxadbenzxadaldehyde. The planar dixadthioxadcarbxadazaxadte moiety subtends an angle of 10.54u2005(8)° with respect to the plane of the nitroxadphenyl ring. Electron delocalization occurs between the imino and dixadthioxadcarboxyl groups. The partially overlapped arrangement of parallel benzene rings of neighboring molxadecules, with a face-to-face distance of 3.343u2005(8)u2005A, suggests the existence of π–π stacking.

Benzil 4-nitrophenylhydrazone

Shang Shan; Hai‐Gang Yu; Wei-Xiao Hu; Duan-Jun Xu

Crystals of the title compound, C20H15N3O3, were obtained from a condensation reaction of benzil and 4-nitroxadphenylxadhydrazine. The phenylxadhydrazone moiety assumes a planar configuration, and the nitro group and phenyl rings of benzil are inclined to this plane. The overlapped arrangement and the small separation of 3.402u2005(14)u2005A between parallel nitroxadphenyl rings of neighboring molxadecules suggest the existence of π–π stacking.

Cyclohexanone 2,4‐dinitrophenylhydrazone

Shang Shan; Duan-Jun Xu; Wei-Xiao Hu

Crystals of the title compound, C12H14N4O4 were obtained by a condensation reaction between cycloxadhexanone and 2,4-dixadnitroxadphenylxadhydrazine. Within the dixadnitroxadphenyl group, the distances of 1.420u2005(2) and 1.422u2005(2)u2005A for the C—C bonds close to the imino group are appreciably longer than the average distance of 1.377u2005(2)u2005A for the rest of the C—C bonds in the ring. The overlapped arrangement and separation of 3.379u2005(8)u2005A between parallel aromatic rings suggest the existence of a π–π-stacking interaction between neighboring molxadecules.

Methyl 3-(4-methylbenzylidene)dithiocarbazate

Shang Shan; Yan-Ling Zhang

Crystals of the title compound, C10H12N2S2, were obtained from a condensation reaction of methyl dithioxadcarbazate and 4-methylxadbenzaldehyde. The essentially planar molxadecule exhibits an E configuration. Weak interxadmolecular N—H⋯S hydrogen bonds link the molxadecules into centrosymmetric dimers.

3,4‐Dimethoxybenzaldehyde 4‐nitrophenylhydrazone

Shang Shan; Wei-Xiao Hu; Duan-Jun Xu

The crystals of the title compound, C15H15N3O4, were obtained from a condensation reaction of 2,4-dixadmethoxyxadbenzxadaldehyde and 4-nitroxadphenylxadhydrazine. The molxadecule displays a nearly planar structure. The overlapped arrangement of nearly parallel benzene rings of neighboring molxadecules and centroid–centroid distance of 3.5642u2005(16)u2005A suggest π–π stacking. Adjacent molxadecules are linked to each other via N—H⋯O hydrogen bonds to form a helical supramolecular structure.

2-Nitrobenzaldehyde 4-nitrophenylhydrazone

Shang Shan; Xiao‐Juan Wang; Wei-Xiao Hu; Duan-Jun Xu

Crystals of the title compound, C13H10N4O4, were obtained from a condensation reaction of 2-nitroxadbenzxadaldehyde and 4-nitrophenylhydrazine. Significantly different C—N(nitro) and N—O bond distances are observed for the o- and p-nitro groups. The aromatic C—C bonds close to the imino group are longer than the others in the same benzene ring. The overlapped arrangement of nearly parallel benzene rings from neighboring molxadecules and centroid-to-centroid distance of 3.9370u2005(9)u2005A suggest π–π stacking.

2‐Chloro‐3,4‐dimethoxybenzaldehyde 2,4‐dinitrophenylhydrazone

Shang Shan; Wei‐Rong Chen; Wei-Xiao Hu; Duan-Jun Xu

Crystals of the title compound, C15H13ClN4O6, were obtained from a condensation reaction of 2-chloro-3,4-dixadmethoxyxadbenzxadaldehyde and 2,4-dixadnitroxadphenylxadhydrazine. Within the dixadnitroxadphenyl group, the distances of 1.413u2005(3) and 1.405u2005(3)u2005A for the C—C bonds close to the imino group are appreciably longer than the average distance of 1.372u2005(4)u2005A for other aromatic C—C bonds in the same benzene ring. The benzene rings in the molxadecule are nearly coplanar, and the overlapped arrangement of benzene rings of neighboring molxadecules shows the existence of a π–π stacking interaction.

Isobutyraldehyde 2,4‐dinitrophenylhydrazone

Shang Shan; Duan-Jun Xu; Wei-Xiao Hu

Crystals of the title compound, C10H12N4O4, were obtained from a condensation reaction of isobutyrxadaldehyde and 2,4-dixadnitroxadphenylxadhydrazine. The molxadecule exists in an E configuration. In the dixadnitroxadphenyl moiety, the average distance of 1.419u2005(3)u2005A for the aromatic C—C bonds adjacent to the imino group is appreciably longer than the average distance of 1.375u2005(3)u2005A for the other aromatic C—C bonds in the same ring. The overlapped arrangement and separations of 3.387u2005(15) and 3.369u2005(15)u2005A between parallel rings suggest the existence of π–π-stacking interactions between neighboring molxadecules.
