Stereoscopic thresholds as a function of head- and object-orientation.

Sheldon M. Ebenholtz; Richard M. Walchli

Abstract Stereoscopic thresholds were measured under six degrees of lateral tilt of object and observer respectively. Thresholds increased inversely with the cosine of the angle of inclination. Conditions of head-tilt produced significantly lower thresholds than object-tilt. These results are not compatible with presently available geometric models of binocular disparity.
