The Revolving-Type Fluidized-Bed Incinerator: Its Basic Performance in Msw Combustion

For the purpose of investigating basic combustion characteristics of fluidized-bed incinerators, two types of test incinerator were built and subjected to refuse incineration tests burning non-shredded refuse. For stable operation of a fluidized-bed incinerator, it is very important to keep an adequate fluidized bed temperature, and this can be accomplished for various types of refuse by adequately controlling and selecting the combustion characteristics. Through temperature measurement and gas analysis in the incinerator, the factors that could affect the fluidized bed temperature were identified. Also, by comparison of conventional-type fluidized-bed incinerators and revolving-type fluidized-bed incinerators, it became clear that the latter type was able to keep its bed temperature more stable. This is quite desirable for a heat recovery type incinerator.
