USER BEHAVIOR AND PLANNING ISSUES FOCUSED ON DIAPER CHANGING ZONES IN BABY ROOMS IN COMMERCIAL COMPLEX FACILITIES BASED ON THE OBSERVATION SURVEYS

The aim of this study is to formulate architectural guidelines on the planning and designing of diaper changing zones in baby rooms, so that observation surveys on user behavior was conducted in three commercial facilities. The guidelines taken from our analyses are as follows: A diagram calculating proper number of changing stations, a model plan of a diaper changing zone, the layout of other equipment, such as hand wash basins and the connection of diaper changing zones to breastfeeding zones and rest zones are suggested. Baby rooms should be designed to match various needs or preference of users.
