Target tracking with adaptive sampling intervals using multiple maneuver model

Since a phased array radar can direct the radar beam in any direction without physically moving radar antenna, it can perform adaptive sampling of the target trajectory. Proper control of the radar can improve the tracking performance. We propose the method of adaptively adjusting the sampling rate based on error covariance of the multiple maneuver model (M/sup 3/) algorithm which is an effective technique for tracking maneuvering targets. Simulation results show that proposed algorithm determines the sampling interval adapted to the changing target dynamics. The Monte Carlo simulation results have demonstrated the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm in reduction of the radar resources.

Program integration tool (PIT) for developing prototype of C/sup 3/I systems

In this paper, the construction of program integration tool (PIT) which supports to make prototyping systems of the C/sup 3/I system is reported. In the C/sup 3/I system, the specifications of systems depend heavily on commanders personality. It is necessary to examine the specifications of the system by constructing the prototyping system before an actual system is constructed. The PIT treats the data in the object system and the program which processes the data as parts of the system. The PIT can construct a prototyping system by combining those parts. In addition, it can construct and control a distributed system. It also offers graphical interface and the function to support construction and improvement of the prototyping system.<<ETX>>
