Sound field offset device

Toshihiko Date; Shuji Saiki; Kazuki Honda

A sound field offset device having two channels, each of which includes a frequency selection filter for dividing a stereophonic input signal into two frequency bands by a given frequency falling within an audio frequency, at least one digital filter for performing sound field offsetting within a lower frequency band, and at least one loudspeaker assembly for a higher frequency band having a sharp directivity pattern and capable of defining an area to which acoustic power is emitted. This device allows a sound field to be offset in a cost effective and simple manner, by improving the frequency characteristic of a sound field space and by clarifying the sense of locality of acoustic images.

Sound absorbing structure

Toshiyuki Matsumura; Shuji Saiki

A sound absorbing panel structure is formed of a panel of sound absorbing material, such as a felt mat or fiberglass mat, and spaced apart, parallel strips of a decorative non-sound absorbing material attached to one side surface of the sound absorbing panel so that the sound absorbing panel is exposed in the area between the adjacent strips of decorative material.

Speaker and speaker system employing the same

Shuji Saiki; Kazuki Honda; Satoshi Koura

A speaker has an edge member which includes a plurality of peripheral pieces and a plurality of connecting portions for connecting neighboring ones of the pieces. The neighboring ones of the pieces have cross-sectional shapes symmetric with respect to each other in an axial direction of the edge member. Each of the connecting portions has a cross-sectional shape that changes gradually and continuously. A diaphragm which is secured to an inner periphery or an outer periphery of the edge member, and a frame is secured to an outer periphery or an inner periphery of the edge member.

Acoustic diaphragm for speakers and method of producing the same

Naraji Sakamoto; Shuji Saiki; Kazue Sato; Kousaku Murata; Hiroshi Yamamoto

An acoustic diaphragm for speakers having a sandwich structure constituted by a core material comprising an elongated web material bent to have a plurality of radial projections, and upper and lower surface members adhered to the upper and lower edges of the core member, as well as a method of producing the same. The acoustic diaphragm of the invention has a reduced weight while exhibiting a large flexural rigidity so that the nodal line during the resonance vibration can have a circular form which in turn offers a circular form of nodal line and increased speaker power. Also, the method of producing the invention permits easy fabrication of the acoustic diaphragm having a sandwich structure.

The present invention relates to an electromagnetic electro-acoustic transducer to be used for generating an incoming indicator tone for mobile phones and the like. A resin magnet 11 is formed with a hard magnetic material and a soft magnetic material, the lowest resonant frequency can be easily set by changing the magnetic flux density in a magnetic gap by changing the compound ratio of the soft magnetic material, a high magnetic flux density is attained by increasing the magnetic permeability of the resin magnet 11 with the soft magnetic material, thus achieving a smaller size as well as a higher sound pressure through an increase in the driving force exerted to the diaphragm.
