Four organotin(IV) compounds, [Bu6Sn6O6(L1)6] (1), [Bu6Sn6O6(L2)4(L3)2] (2), [Bu8Sn4O2(L2)4] (3) and [Ph3Sn(L2)] (4), were obtained by reactions of BuSnOH, Bu2SnO and Ph3SnOH with 4-((6-chloropyridin-3-yl)methylamino)benzonic acid (HL1), 4-((pyridin-2-yl)methylamino)benzonic acid (HL2) and p-aminobenzoic acid (HL3). 1 is a hexameric cluster, existing in a drum-like structure with prismatic Sn6O6 core. Compound 2 is a mixed drum, containing two kinds of carboxylic acid anions. Compound 3 possesses a Sn4O4 ladder structure. In 2 and 3, two-dimensional supramolecular structures are formed by the intermolecular hydrogen-bonding interactions. Compound 4 is a monomer with a dimer formed through π–π stacking between adjacent L2 anions. Compounds 1–4 were characterized by elemental analyses and IR spectra.

The title compound, [CrSn(C6H5)3(C7H6NO2)3Cl][Sn(C6H5)3Cl(CH4O)], was obtained from the reaction of Ph3SnCl with the complex [Cr(C7H6NO2)3] in methanol. The structure contains [Ph3SnCl(MeOH)] (A) and [Ph3SnClCr(C7H6NO2)3] (B) molecules. In molecule A, the Sn atom of Ph3SnCl is coordinated by one methanol molecule. In molecule B, the Sn atom of Ph3SnCl is coordinated by one carboxylate O atom of [Cr(C7H6NO2)3]. Molecules A and B are connected through an O-H...O hydrogen bond between a carboxylate O atom and the methanol OH group. Weak C-H...Cl interactions and O-H...O hydrogen bonds extend the components of (I) into a two-dimensional network.

The title compound, bis[2,2′-dimethyl-3,3′-(butane-1,4-diyl)diimidazol-1-ium] β-octamolybdate(VI), (C12H20N4)2[Mo8O26], was produced by hydrothermal reaction of an acidified aqueous solution of Na2MoO4 and 1,4-bis(2-methyl-1H-imidazol-1-yl)butane (hereafter L). The structure of the title compound consists of the β-octamolybdate anions having a center of symmetry, and protonated [H2 L]2+ cations, which link the β-octamolybdate anions, generating a supramolecular chain via hydrogen bonds.
