Sobre o conceito de redes sociais e seus pesquisadores

Este artigo e resultado de pesquisa realizada entre os anos de 2011 e 2013, cujo tema foi redes sociais. O problema de pesquisa era identificar o perfil da producao bibliografica brasileira sobre o referido tema e possibilidades para uso desse espaco na promocao da saude. Por se tratar de pesquisa de cunho exploratorio e descritivo, nao foram estabelecidas hipoteses iniciais. O estudo teorico permitiu identificar relacoes historicas do conceito com as ciencias naturais e tambem com estudos da antropologia e da filosofia; porem evidenciou uma contradicao em relacao ao conceito de rede social e a experiencia individual e coletiva na sociedade atual. Numa segunda etapa, identificaram-se os grupos de pesquisa no Brasil que investigam tematicas relacionadas com as redes sociais. Sinteticamente, o resultado em relacao a tais grupos mostrou que as areas de conhecimento predominantes foram a comunicacao (39,7%) e educacao (33,3%). Quanto a regiao, houve predominâncias de grupos instalados no sudeste (44,2%) e, em termos de instituicao, uma predominância da Pontificia Universidade Catolica de Sao Paulo (17,4%) e da Universidade de Sao Paulo (13,9%). Dos temas descritos em cada um dos grupos, as categorias analiticas “Questoes economicas e sociais” (9,7%) e “Transformacoes sociais e culturais” (9%) apresentaram significância em relacao as demais, mostrando um perfil das pesquisas brasileiras com forte componente social.

Educação a distância: sistemas de aprendizagem on-line

A tematica da educacao a distância nesta ultima decada tem gerado um volume de publicacoes bastante significativo, tanto no formato de livros quanto de artigos. No Brasil tivemos alguns autores que se tornaram referencia em alguns momentos. Com isso, definir um livro para ser resenhado para uma revista e (quase) um compromisso de propor uma leitura de algum autor com alguma contribuicao alem daquelas ja consolidadas na area. O livro “Educacao a distância: sistemas de aprendizagem on-line” e uma producao de um dos precursores da EAD nos EUA. O autor, Michael Moore graduou-se em Economia pela London School of Economics (1959) e na University of Wisconsin-Madison fez seu Ph.D (1973). Atuou com educacao a distância em varios continentes desde a decada de 1970, inclusive na primeira experiencia de EAD na Africa (1963-1967) com o uso do radio e de correspondencia. Mas apesar dessas experiencias precursoras, nunca deixou de atualizar-se com as novas tecnologias que foram trazidas para a EAD, bem como com a teorizacao sobre essas novas praticas. Por isso, a escolha pelo livro e pelo autor deveu-se fundamentalmente pela contribuicao e trajetoria deste autor para a consolidacao da area.

Discusión y construcción de la categoría teórica de vulnerabilidad social

This article analyzes the social vulnerability theoretical category and presents the results of a survey conducted in the slums of Rio de Janeiro (RJ – BR). Based on studies about youth, social vulnerability and living conditions, we discuss the notion of social vulnerability with the participation of social projects educators, highlighting and analyzing the dimensions and indicators that guided the data collection: the investigation-action-participation – IAP – method. The results enabled us to verify that: 1) the qualitative approaches were positive for data collection and analysis of vulnerability; 2) the confirmation that the social exclusion category is the main condition of vulnerability, encompassing the social, ideological and legal and extreme/lethal dimensions.

O conhecimento e a utilização de filtro solar por profissionais da beleza

The scope of this research was to establish the level of awareness of beauticians regarding the importance of the application of sunscreen and to identify whether their patients had been properly instructed by these professionals. It involved a descriptive and exploratory study with interviews applying qualitative methodology among 30 beauticians. Data were gathered using the semi-structured interview technique in Maringá, in the southern state of Paraná. The data were analyzed using Atlas.ti software after applying quantitative analysis and response classification. Of those interviewed, 83.33% had a degree in Aesthetics, 20% attended ongoing training activities on sunscreen and 73.17% acquired sunscreen for its quality, though 86.67% were not familiar with sunscreens with natural anti-free radical components. Of those interviewed, 80% had never treated patients with skin cancer, though they reported having knowledge of care in relation to sun exposure and how to use the sunscreen and the relationship of these practices with the disease. Em Busca do Tempo Esquecido

Negro identity and Afro-Brazilian religiosity valorized and re-signified in the drum, one of their symbols, are analyzed. The analysis of Oliveira Silveira´s poems “Atabaques”, “Cavalo-de-santo” and “O tambor bebeu sangue” brings forth the recovery of Brazilian identity which emerges through the coupling of ancestral voices, culture and myth of African deities. They reveal the Negro as the enunciating subject, free from the fetters of bias and from hegemonic and European-Western concepts, forming at the same time his own concept of subject and religious culture.Current essay deals with Social Assistance as public policy and its division by levels of protection: Basic Social Protection, Special Social Protection with Medium and High Complexity. Discussion problematizes the great number of apparatuses used in High Complexity which frequently are used because of contracts with the town administration to the detriment of public equipment under direct administration. The phenomenon occurs differently in Basic Protection and Special Protection with Medium Complexity, due to the obligation of CRAS and CREAS supply as public and state equipment as required factors for the deployment of the policy.
