The Interrelation between Communities, Trust and Their Online Social Patterns

This paper describes an attempt to explore possible interrelations between todays online communities, trust and their online social patterns. It reports on a study in progress to provide a deeper understanding of how and at what level such relations affect the development of learning social contexts, i.e contexts that represent individuals needs, group commitments, their responsibilities, goals and loyalties towards the need to progress, to bound and gain knowledge or become skilled. The paper starts by discussing this studys rational, and proceeds on discussing alternative ways of depicting and understanding how our attitudes regarding online relationships can be related with trust. It terminates with a briefly presentation and discussion of the early results the ongoing work.

A model for Human-computer trust: A key contribution for leveraging trustful interactions

This article addresses trust in computer systems as a social phenomenon, which depends on the type of relationship that is established through the computer, or with other individuals. It starts by theoretically contextualizing trust, and then situates trust in the field of computer science. Then, describes the proposed model, which builds on what one perceives to be trustworthy and is influenced by a number of factors such as the history of participation and users perceptions. It ends by situating the proposed model as a key contribution for leveraging trustful interactions and ends by proposing it used to serve as a complement to foster users trust needs in what concerns Human-computer Iteration or Computermediated Interactions.

A model for Human-computer Trust Contributions towards leveraging user engagement

Trusting is a rather complex phenomena and this complexity has been increasing with the pervasiveness of computing systems. In this virtual realms, Human-computer trust represents a key issue in today’s organizations, and it has a significative role in leveraging interactions and mediating interrelationships and auto-regulate knowledge sharing processes.

Trust for Supporting Learning Creativity in Online Learning Communities

This paper addresses the effort to investigate the potential of using real time data for helping teachers in assessing and monitoring learners commitments towards learning collaboratively at a distance in online scenarios. We aim with this to recognize group vulnerabilities and being able to help teachers intervene when needed and support positive actions and contributions among learners and therefore reinforce learners autonomy and motivations to engage in everyday creativity skills and innovations. Main results achieved so far are translated in an attempt to report evidence gathered through observation as a pilot test a real case scenario a international Technology enhanced-learning course aiming to understand three major aspect of the potential of trust in leverage support positive actions and creative contributions. Results provide a linking evidence towards the potential of trust awareness in support positive actions and creative contributions in the classroom.
