Modelling, simulation and monitoring the use of LabVIEW

Štefan Koprda; Milan Turčáni; Zoltán Balogh

The article deals with the issues of modelling of loading of a computer processor using LabVIEW. In the initial part of the article the authors deal with the definition of basic terms in the area of modelling and simulation of processes. In the second part, methods of verification and validation of models are presented. The article describes the modelling environment LabVIEW, creation of virtual instruments, methods of planning and the proposal of processes, as well as distant administration of the processes. In the given environment authors designed a virtual instrument to monitor the loading of processor. The application can be used as a diagnostic tool for the tuning of processes, demanding as to calculation and memory. The application can also serve for fast processor temperature detecting. The created application can be set on in the real time in the most frequently used types of computers with up-to-date platform of processes.

Two-State Regulation in MATLAB for the Comparison of Some Parameters (Damage, Power Consumption) by PSD Regulation

Peter Brečka; Martin Magdin; Štefan Koprda

In today’s active era of ICT usage not only in education but also in the field of industrial and automation equipment there is a question coming into the foreground: how should some processes be used and controlled both to have their course reliable and to achieve the demanded result. One of the possibilities is the usage of regulators (e.g. adaptive ones) that ensure these functions. Besides the relatively low price we get protective, signalling, visual and registering function, while communication through them and the regulated system is practically either without a biased information or with a very small change. Afterwards an unlimited complexity of control algorithms comes into being and also the possibility of fast change of regulated system parameters.

Štefan Koprda; Zoltán Balogh; Dusan Hruby; Milan Turcam

The users of modern buildings require more and more comfort and for fulfilling habitation requirements they expect more achievements. Air-conditioning, refrigeration, lighting system, security and camera system, telecommunication system and computer network have been added beside the traditional heating and ventilation. Concurrently with the requirements of the users, the demands of the operation economy of these kinds of objects with multifunctional technology grow, too. The paper describes a creation design of automated control and remote management of irrigation system by the use of low-cost device Arduino and operating system Android. The irrigation system consists of several modules which can be divided into three parts: control part, regulatory part and server part. The design brings comfort, automation and mostly energy savings for intelligent systems.

The influence of control methods in technological process to save electrical energy

Štefan Koprda; Zoltán Balogh; Milan Turčáni

The development of computer technology has led to new modern management methods in the work experience. Evidence of this can be found in developments such as AC (adaptive control), robust control and, most clearly, AI (artificial intelligence) and expert systems. It is important to prefer regulator adaptation with minimal overshooting and speed and stability control for meeting criteria of technological process. This article describes one of the possibilities for finding PSD controller coefficients to reach the best quality control in comparison with standard procedures. Fuzzy control rules base design

Štefan Koprda; Zoltán Balogh; Milan Turčáni

Problems with continual processes modeling are apparent upon solving multilevel control systems, where, besides an extensive procedure level of control, there exists another level of control responsible for a continuous optimization of the process. It is natural that it is necessary to improve quality of any production technology in a complex way, by means of replacing the technology itself, as well as by continuous optimization of operation, upon which it is inevitable to exploit not only exact theoretical means, but also practical experience, or heuristic procedures from the level of dispatcher control. It is just here, where new opportunities of using fuzzy controller are opening, as a compensation for a man in control and optimizing processes. Besides the above mentioned possibilities, the exploitation of fuzzy controllers in the practice is very widespread. For example, steam turbines, chemical reactors and cement operations control has successfully been solved. Using fuzzy controller for the acceleration of neurone networks learning can serve an example. The article deals with the issue of rules base design in the environs of Matlab.

Implementation of Microcontroller Arduino in Irrigation System

Štefan Koprda; Martin Magdin; Michal Munk

The aim of this article is the design and implementation of intelligent irrigation devices using the Arduino microcontroller. The control interface of the irrigation system was created as a mobile application. The currently existing various similar solutions are all from the perspective of money unprofitable. The present solution is very cheap and effective especially for home usage. Following the extension it can also be applied on a larger scale e.g. for buildings greenhouse, intelligent garden and others. We used these hardware components for realization: the microcontroller Arduino Yun, real-time clock DS1302, two humidity sensors, relays and solenoid valves. The application for controlling irrigation device using mobile technology was created in the programming language Java. This easy smart irrigation system can be controlled by smartphone or tablet with operating systems Android 4 and above. Reactions and all functions of proposed intelligent system were verified with statistical surveyes. The results were evaluated by using technics of explorating analysis and non parametric Levene’s test. By analysis we can determine the reliability of the irrigation equipment and so clarify the behavior of the system for the existence of systematic and random errors.

Fuzzy Adaptive Controller Design for Control of Air in Conditioned Room

Štefan Koprda; Martin Magdin

In the paper we describe an adaptive controller for control of air in conditioned room. We know, that exist more procedures for management of change of climate air in room (for setup and maintain of optimal temperature) - classical control by using the button on/of, management by bimetallic sensors, temperature management through control elements and the like. The human body perceives the minimum temperature difference (+3/−3) in your area. Where it is necessary to maintain a constant temperature for a very long time (e.g. in offices, server rooms), we need to consider the controlled system. Control system is part of the control circuit and may be considered as transfer element with certain characteristics. In the choice of the controller and its configuration is important to know the dynamic properties of the system. The simplest is to determine the dynamic characteristics of the system obtained from the its step response. We may also use the frequency response, which is much more difficult to obtain. Dynamic properties of the control system can we mathematically to express as the relationship between the change in input (Action) and a change the output value of controlled variable. On the basis of the current research, as the most appropriate way to set up and maintain a constant temperature in room at minimum operating costs may be solution by using fuzzy adaptive controller.

Proposal for Spatial Monitoring Activities Using the Raspberry Pi and LF RFID Technology

Zoltán Balogh; Richard Bízik; Milan Turčáni; Štefan Koprda

The paper describes a new way of activity monitoring of small rodents by the use of Raspberry PI and RFID. The created system deals with complex monitoring, record and acquisition of new entries from spatial activity. Raspberry PI is a full-valued micro-PC with an operating system based on Linux which communicates and controls RFID reader working at the frequency of 125 and 134 kHz. It is needed to read LF RFID chips. Monitoring station preserves transmitter scanning by a programme created in Java and RFID chip reader and sending entries into relational database. The created database is on the central Raspberry PI to which other Raspberry PI monitoring stations have access through WiFi net or LAN net. It is possible to access the central PC by a remote management. The created system is variable, compact and offers wide possibilities of spread, and the last but not least, the system is a cheap alternative of the already existing systems.

The advantages of creating an application to archive data from a mobile device in LabVIEW environment

Štefan Koprda; Zoltán Balogh; Milan Turčáni

The article presents the issues of creating software for mobile device in the graphical environment LabVIEW from the firm National Instrument. Prototype production is preceded, or fully replaced by the phase, in which using virtual instruments and simulation of real processes shall reveal plenty of errors leading to frequent and costly interference with the physical prototype, or total abjection of the method of solution of the given problem. Characteristic feature of the visualizing instrument - LabVIEW is utilization of the graphic environment, or G language. The paper deals the problems of creating an application in the environment LabVIEW for a mobile phone with Android operating system which is able to archive and process information from mobile phone. The created software serves as a sample for easy creation of complex applications.
