High resolution specific heat measurements in the ceramic superconductor YBa2Cu3O7−x: anomalies near 90K and 220K

Specific heat measurements in six YBCO samplesare reported in the temperature range 60K to 300K. The specific heat jumps at the 90K superconducting transition are measured. Variations are explained by varying volume fraction of superconducting material in different samples. An additional anomaly in the specific heat is found at 220K. Glass-like ordering in the oxygen system is suggested to explain the observation.

The effect of the atmosphere on the thermal expansion of YBa2Cu3O7−δ

Polycrystalline samples of YBa 2 Cu 3 O 7−δ have been studied by dilatometry and thermogravimetry in the temperature range ambient to 920°C under several different oxygen pressures.

On the orthorhombic to tetragonal phase transition in YBa2Cu3O7-x

Abstract The heat of partial reduction of YBa 2 Cu 3 O 7-x as well as the partial heat of oxygen in the compound was determined. Measurements were carried out at several temperatures. The results indicated three distinct phases under the range of conditions studied. The enthalpy difference between the phases was deduced as a function of composition at the temperatures studied.
