The David Livingstone Spectral Imaging Project is a collaborative, international effort to use spectral imaging technology and digital publishing to make available a series of faded, illegible texts produced by the famous Victorian explorer when he was stranded without ink or writing paper in Central Africa. The poster describes existing achievements of the project, plans for an innovative portal providing access to images and data, and preservation challenges.

This article discusses the metadata records aggregated by the Sheet Music Consortium using the Open Archives Initiative Protocol for Metadata Harvesting. The consortiums website serves as a union catalog for more than a quarter of a million records, harvested from 27 providers. During a recent period of revision, the consortium decided to experiment with normalizing data and publishing authority data related to sheet music. A pilot project focused on sheet music publishers is discussed and the results are presented.
