Bu calisma ile 7. sinif ogrencilerinin cebir alaninda tasarlanan bir hikaye icerisindeki gercek yasam durumunu matematiksel ifadeye donusturme surecindeki matematiksel dil becerilerini incelemek amaclanmistir. Ogrencilerin matematiksel dil becerileri Lesh (1981) tarafindan gelistirilen coklu temsil gecis modeli kuramsal cercevesi isiginda incelenmistir.

In this paper, we first obtain the differential equation characterizing position vector of time-like curve in Lorentzian plane 𝕃2. Then we study the special curves such as Smarandache curves, circular indicatrices, and curves of constant breadth in Lorentzian plane 𝕃2. We give some characterizations of these special curves in 𝕃2.

The purpose of this study is to determine the primary preservice mathematics teachers’ mathematics teaching efficacy perception with regard to the math literacy, and their belief in math teaching. It also aims to explore variables that contribute to these beliefs including gender, grade level, the type of high school where they were graduated, and to investigate the links amongst them. The study group of this research consisted of 278 preservice teachers who were in their second, third, or fourth year at the Faculty of Education, Primary School Mathematics Teaching at a university located in the West side of Turkey, during 2014-2015 academic year. “Mathematics Literacy Self-Efficacy Belief Instrument” and “The Mathematics Teaching Efficacy Belief Instrument” were used in this study to collect data. The findings showed that there was a small but significant relation between the preservice teachers’ mathematics literacy self-efficacy sense and mathematics teaching efficacy belief. Also it was found out that the preservice teachers’ mathematics literacy self-efficacy belief differentiates significantly depending on the their grade level.

The purpose of the study is to reveal a mathematics teacher’s views regarding the development of 6th grade students’ cognitive modelling competencies and modelling implementation process. She conducted a long-term modelling sequences aiming at the competency development and was interviewed after the implementation process. Her answers were analyzed by using content analysis and the views were gathered under some themes and codes. It was seen that the views were shaped under seven themes as providing the development of each modelling competency, development of cognitive modelling competencies, factors contributing the development of cognitive modelling competencies, factors preventing the development of cognitive modelling competencies, implementation process, future implementations and factors required to be fixed in the implementation process. Some strategies supporting the development of the cognitive modelling competencies were appeared from her statements. She also indicated her general thoughts about the strengths and weaknesses of the implementation process. It is suggested for further studies to utilize the factors and strategies revealed in the study for planning modelling implementations.

In this work, a system of differential equation on Minkowski space-time E1, a special case of Smarandache geometries ([4]), whose solution gives the components of a space-like curve on Frenet axis is constructed by means of Frenet equations. In view of some special solutions of this system, characterizations of some special space-like curves are presented.
