Heterocycles | 1991

Reaction of a-Bromoacetophenone Phenylsulfonylhydrazones. A New Synthetic Route to 2-Arylimidazoisoquinolines and -quinolines

Suketaka Ito; Akikazu Kakehi; Toshikazu Miwa

2-Arylimidazo[2,1-a]isoquinolines and -[1,2-a]-quinolines were obtained in good to moderate yields by the reaction of the title hydrazones with isoquinoline and quinoline, respectively.

Heterocycles | 2002

A through-space interaction of 3-benzylthiothieno[3,4-b]indolizine derivatives combined by a highly flexible spacer

Akikazu Kakehi; Suketaka Ito; Hiroyuki Suga; Takeyuki Miwa; Takashi Mori; Tomoshige Kobayashi

Some ethyl 1-benzoyl-3-[(un)substituted benzylthio]thieno[3,4-b]indolizine-9-carboxylates were prepared and their conformations were investigated. In the solid state and the chloroform solution they had stacked structuresin which the phenyl ring and the pyridine moiety of theino[3,4-b]indolizine ring are partly overlapped.

Heterocycles | 1993

One-pot synthesis of heterocage compounds

Akikazu Kakehi; Suketaka Ito

The reaction of some pyridinium 1 -(methylthiothiocarbonyl)-methylides bearing an ethoxycarbonyl group at the ylidic carbanion with dimethyl acetylenedicarboxylate in chloroform at room temperature gave smoothly 3-methylthio-4-thia-1-azatetracyclo[5.4.0.0 5,11 .O 6,8 ]undeca-2,9-diene-2,5,6-tricarboxylic esters in moderate yields

An Attempt to Predict Thermal Pericyclic Reactions by a Sequential Nucleophilic Scheme

Suketaka Ito; Akikazu Kakehi; Yumo Tanaka

A simple, mnemonic method for predicting pericyclic reactions in ground states has been worked out by treating a multi-center reaction as a sequence of one-center reactions analogous to nucleophilic substitution type reaction. The analysis of reaction is carried out by illustrating localized MO’s and their stepwise transformation. This method can lead to predictions for thermal pericyclic reactions in agreement with the Woodward-Hoffmann rules and the HOMO-LUMO interaction method. A simple modification of this method is applicable to reactions in excited states.
