Teaching information science and technology to the world? Practices, challenges and visions

Information science and technology (IST) has made unprecedented impacts on society. Teaching IST should by no means be limited within the boundary of the discipline. Based on their experiences in teaching IST in various levels, speakers in this panel will reflect the past, share current practices and envision the future of teaching IST to the world. Collectively we aim to stimulate further discussions on increasing the impact of the field through education.

Strategic Planning: International Online Collaboration

“History SG: ChroniclingHistoryOne Event at a Time” (Gladys Low). This article described the new “HistorySG” resource on the National Library of Singapore’s Web portal. This resource offers Singapore citizens an array of articles and resources on Singapore’s history, including rich multimedia (photos, videos, audio, newspaper clippings, etc.). As one of many eresources provided by the National Library, this adds to an already impressive suite of resources available to Singapore citizens.
