This study introduced the potential of microwave application in the determination of alkaloid in Dioscorea hispida rhizome. This microwave device is used to measure the coefficient permitivity of microwave level at rhizome surface using mechanical probe. With the same rhizomes, 40 grams was selected for chemical analysis at a laboratory for the programme of East Coastal Economic Regions - Kementerian Pengajan Tinggi, Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin, Malaysia (ECER-KPT UniSZA). The sample were selected from 12 portion of 2 plants (I and B) collected from Kampung Kudat, Ajil, Terengganu, Malaysia. The result show that the correlation between microwave level and weight of alkaloid with regression, R2 is >0.8 is acceptable. Using SPSS, the ANOVA value shows significant correlation between microwave level and weight of alkaloid >0.05. This work is grouped as nondestructive method to detect the dioscorine which is one of the alkaloid components in the rhizome. There is a real need to develop a hand tool harvester since harvesting tubers of Dioscorea hispida (ubi gadong) is time tedious and consuming. The tubers were surrounded by roots, which were well gripped to the soil which made harvesting process difficult. Therefore, a new tool equipped with cutting device to cut the roots of D. hispida is required. The information from the experiments is used to model and simulate the tool in Computer Aided Design (CAD) environment. The solid modeling software solidworks was used for the design, modeling and simulation of the equipment and the finite element analysis to determine the stress, force and displacement were also conducted.

This study was conducted at Farm Mechanization Laboratory, Faculty of Bioresources and Food Industry, University Sultan Zainal Abidin. The purpose of this study is to identify the concept of continuous water flow for the development of Syaria compliance washing machine that reacts as water blend circulation. A total amount of 6 L of tap water is used to dilute 6 L of seawater treatment. Water parameters such as pH and turbidity were taken at the end of this experiment. All the parameters show the positive result which is nearly with tap water’s properties. The mean of pH in third dilution in spin mode of washing machine shows the highest value with (8.91 ± 0.04) meanwhile the turbidity also shows the best result in third dilution with a value of (0.02 ± 0.01). In correlation test, both pH and turbidity negatively correlated each other. From this experiment, it showed that the technique of continuous flow in the washing machine will effectively remove the excrement-based fluid. This technique is supposed to embed on the spinning mode of washing machine that is available in the market while purposely is not to deny the existing washing machine in the market but here is to introduce the best practise for complying Islamic Syaria of the continuously flowing water technique.
