Inclusive experiments for D(p,p)pn breakup were performed at incident proton energies of 247 MeV and 13 MeV. At 247 MeV, the cross sections and analyzing power Ay measured at angles from 7 ° to 20 ° largely disagree with calculations even if a 2π‐exchange three‐nucleon force (2π3NF) effects are included, and the disagreement increases at forward angles. At 13 MeV, cross section measured at angles from 10 ° to 70 ° agrees well with pd calculation and 2π3NF effects are small. The large disagreement in pd breakup at 247 MeV may have some relationship with disagreements in pd scattering at 250 MeV.

We studied transition strengths to isovector dipole resonances (GDR‐1¯, SDR‐1¯, and SDR‐2¯) in 4He by using the 4He(7Li,7Beγ) reaction at 455 MeV and by comparing with shell‐model calculations, in order to estimate cross sections of 4He for reactions induced by neutrinos emitting from a thermalized neutrino‐sphere in the type‐II supernova. Excitation of the SDR was dominant in the neutrino‐heating of 4He. The 4He‐excitation via neutral‐current reactions of νμ,τ and νμ,τ was found to be one order of magnitude stronger than that via charged‐current reactions of νe and νe. The total energy‐weighted cross section N for neutrino‐induced neutral‐current reactions on 4He was found to amount to about 1.0×10−40 MeV⋅cm2 which is comparable to those used in the previous simulations. The neutrino‐heating effect of 4He is small in the type‐II supernova explosion.

We studied analogs of the giant dipole resonance (GDR) and spin-dipole resonance (SDR) in {sup 4}He and in the {alpha} clusters of {sup 6,7}Li via the ({sup 7}Li,{sup 7}Be{gamma}) reactions on {sup 4}He, {sup 6}Li, and {sup 7}Li at an incident energy of 455 MeV and at a scattering angle of 0 deg. by measuring spin-nonflip and spin-flip spectra. The reaction Q-values for the analogs of the GDR and SDR in the {alpha} clusters of {sup 6,7}Li were found to be more negative than those in {sup 4}He by 2.0{+-}0.5 MeV. The ratios of the cross section for the analog of the GDR to that for the analog of the SDR in {sup 4}He and in the {alpha} clusters of {sup 6}Li and {sup 7}Li were found to be the same within errors, 0.5{+-}0.1. The cross sections for the analogs of the GDR as well as those for the analogs of the SDR in the {alpha} clusters of {sup 6,7}Li were 0.6{approx}0.8 times smaller than those in {sup 4}He. These results suggest that excitations of {alpha} clusters embedded in nuclei are suppressed as compared with excitations of free {alpha} particles.

We investigated the analogs of the giant dipole resonance (GDR) and spin‐dipole resonance (SDR) of 4He by using the 4He(7Li,7Be) reaction at an incident energy of 455 MeV and at forward scattering angles. The ΔS=0 and ΔS=1 spectra for 4He were obtained by measuring the 0.43‐MeV 7Be γ‐ray in coincidence with the scattered 7Be. From the ΔS=0 and ΔS=1 spectra thus obtained, the strength distributions of the GDR and SDR in 4He can be derived and the results are compared with the previous data.

A measurement of tensor analyzing power Axx and Ayy of H(d, 3He)γ reaction at Ed = 137 MeV was made at RCNP. Both the relation of Axx ≈ Ayy and the discrepancy in Axx between experiment and calculations were confirmed at 137 MeV, in consistent with our previous measurement at 196 MeV. Present data are compared with KVI data at 133 MeV.
