A development of the detection unit of Fuel cell impedance

Hyun-seok Park; Min-Ho Shin; Tae-Ho Eom; Chung-Yuen Won; Sun-Doo Kang; Tae-Hong Min

Researches to control water content of Polymer Electrolyte Membrane(PEM) are actively performed for increasing performance & durability of Fuel cell. This Research to control water content focused on measurement of PEM impedance. In this paper, The measurement system of PEM Impedance based on AC impedance method is proposed. Bi-directional DC/DC converter is designed to measurement of PEM impedance. The validity of proposed measurement system of PEM impedance is verified by experiment results in the Fuel cell Stack and FCEV..

Improved charge control algorithm considering temperature of Li-ion battery

Tae-Ho Eom; Min-Ho Shin; Jun-Mo Kim; Jeong Lee; Chung-Yuen Won

In this paper, Li-ion battery charging method of On-Board Charger(OBC) for Electric Vehicle(EV) considering temperature is proposed. Considering the characteristics of the Li-ion battery that varies with temperature, it is a method for charging while maintaining the proper temperature. It operates in three modes and maintains the proper temperature of the battery via self-charge·discharge. In this paper, analyzing the temperature characteristics of the Li-ion battery, it proposed a method for charging while maintaining the proper temperature. The proposed charge method is validated by experiment.

Design of bipolar pulse power supply based on LLC resonant converter for reactive sputtering process

Tae-Ho Eom; Min-Ho Shin; Young-Hoon Park; Young-Real Kim; Chung-Yuen Won

The next-generation display industry, it is necessary for the sputtering process to form a reactive thin film. However, the conventional power supply causes various problems such as high deposition rates and low arc energy, low efficiency in the reactive process. In this paper, we analyze the characteristics of a reactive process and proposed the existing techniques better process. Reactivity step of forming a stable plasma and improves the quality of the thin film. In addition, fast film formation speed, arc suppression, proposed a bipolar pulsed power supply unit in order to improve the deposition rate. The proposed power supply has a stable sputtering process performed by implementing a soft switching using the LLC resonant. LLC converters for high capacity 4 serial-parallel were constructed. The validity of this paper was verified through simulation and experiments.

Integrated parallel operation of the DC distribution systems combined renewable power generation system for building application

Chun-Bok Lee; Tae-Ho Eom; Young-Real Kim; Chung-Yuen Won

In this paper, integrated parallel operation is proposed for the DC distribution System combined renewable power generation system. Proposed DC distribution system is composed by two AC/DC power converter modules, one photovoltaic power module and one ESS(Energy Storage System) module and that analyses six mode of operation. Proposed system operation is controlled by power control. Then, system configuration and integrated parallel operation are verified by experiment.
