The subjects in this study were 200 people who were selected by convenience sampling from a population of male and female adults who participated in sport for all in Gangwon Province. The statistical package SPSS 11.0 was employed to make a frequency analysis, reliability analysis, factor analysis and multiple regression analysis. The findings of the study were as follows: First, participation in sport for all had a statistically significant impact on leisure satisfaction. Those who more participated in sport for all expressed more satisfaction with their leisure life. Second, leisure satisfactionexerted a statistically significant influence on psychological wellbeing. Third, leisure satisfaction affected subjective wellbeing in a statistically significant way. The findings of the study indicated that the leisure satisfaction of those who participated in sport for all exercised a great physical and mental influence on themselves. Those who don`t participate in sport for all should steadily be advised to do that, and the national and local governments should develop a wide variety of sport-for-all programs to let everybody lead a better life by enjoying sport for all.

[Purpose] The purpose of this study was to determine how an exercise program focusing on muscular strength could aid firefighters with chronic lower back pain. [Subjects] The research subjects were randomly assigned to two groups, the experimental group (n=8) and the control (n=8). [Methods] The experimental group performed two types of exercise programs four times per week for 8 weeks under supervision. Tests were performed before and after the 8 weeks of exercise in accordance with the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency’s program. [Results] At the end of the 8 weeks of the rehabilitation program, abdominal muscular strength were significantly increased in the experimental group, and this indicates that the exercise therapy was effective for improvement of muscular strength. [Conclusion] We found that exercise therapy is an effective intervention that can reduce the pain of patients with chronic lower back pain. The firefighters with chronic lower back pain who participated in this study exhibited enhanced lower back muscular strength and obtained some additional benefits. They need regular exercise.

Mi-Young Choi; Tae-Young Moon; Hyun-Ji Lee

The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship of the critical thinking disposition of paramedic students to their satisfaction with hospital clinical practice and intention of recommendation. As for data analysis, the statistical packages SPSS WIN 20.0 and AMOS 20.0 were employed, and frequency analysis, factor analysis, multiple regression analysis and structural equation modeling were utilized. Besides, Cronbach alpha coefficients were calculated to check item internal consistency. The level of significance was all set at .05. A survey was conducted to collect data from May 12 to August 25, 2012, and the answer sheets from 305 respondents were gathered and analyzed. The critical thinking disposition of the paramedic students was found to have a significant impact on their satisfaction with clinical practice, and the hypothesis about that was accepted. Their critical thinking disposition was found to exert a significant influence on their intention of recommendation as well, and the hypothesis about that was accepted. Finally, their satisfaction with clinical practice was found to affect their intention of recommendation in a significant way, and the hypothesis about that was accepted. The findings of the study suggested that in order to nurture professional and competent paramedics, the content of clinical practice should systematically be managed on a regular basis, and prolonged research efforts should be directed into program development.

Use of PC Skillreporting system for Improving Quality of Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation in Fire EMT

Sang-Gyun Rho; Tae-Young Moon

Abstract PC Skillreporting feedback during cardiopulmonary resuscitaion would improve the performance of chest compression and ventilation during cardiac arrest. BLS skills were measured using Laerdal Skillreporter manikin(Laerdal, Norway) connected to a Laerdal PC Skillreporting system. Ventilation volume, chest compression accuracy, velocity of compression, depth of compression, hand position and chest recoil were measured between the two groups. Ventilation volume was significantly higher in the experimental group than that of control group(p<0.002). Chest compression depth was significantly higher in experimental group than that of control group(p=0.000). The quality of CPR can be improved by the use of PC Skillreporting system. The purpose of the study was to investigate the first response, rescue, and transport of emergency patients in Korea coast guard center workers. A self-administered questionnaire was carried out by 333 maritime police workers working at Korea coast guard center from March-June, 2016. The questionnaire consisted of 25 question items. Data were analyzed using SPSS WIN 21.0. Majority of the study subjects worked at the Korea Coast Guard Center and of them, 96.7% were composed of staff who did not possess emergency medical technician certificate, followed by 2.7% possessing level 2 emergency medical technician certificate, and 0.6% possessing level 1 emergency medical technician certificate. And in terms of the possession of lifeguard certificate, 60.1% of the staff possessed lifeguard certificate which was higher percentage than the staff who did not possess lifeguard certificate at 39.9%. In the case of lifeguard certificate, staff who possess lifeguard certificate had better knowledge about the usage instructions for Automated External Defibrillator, than the staff who did not possess the certificate, and meaningful difference was seen in accordance with the possession of the lifeguard certificate(t=4.31, p<.001). Paramedics, also referred to as prehospital emergency personnel, must also be recognized as expert manpower and accordingly, there is a need for a system to allow them to receive corresponding reward.
