In order to perform effective synchronous online classes with multimedia educational materials, we have developed interactive instruction system named IMPRESSION, which facilitates interactive presentation of various multimedia materials provided by web server on the Internet. In this paper, we clarify the design concept of our system, and show the design and implementation of it. And we discuss the effectiveness of our system through the practical use in the online class for high school students with high-bandwidth networks.

In order to perform effective real-time online distance classes with multimedia educational materials, we have developed interactive instruction system named IMPRESSION which facilitates interactive presentation of several multimedia educational materials provided by Web server on the Internet. In this paper, we clarify the concept of our system, design and implement it. And we evaluate effectiveness of our system through the practical use in a two-day online distance class for high school students with JGN-II. As a result of this class, we confirmed we were able to perform a flexible distance class

In this paper, we present the design and implementation of a programming language named DeLis to build a decentralized application an networks. The characteristics of DeLis are: (1) it consists of several LISP-based interpreters; (2) it provides inter-process communication facilities to exchange S-expressions through channels; (3) it provides a user interface description facilities with GUI parts; (4) it allows to define programming paradigms at will, and describe application programs in multi-paradigms; (5) it is possible to change described programs dynamically at runtime. Thus, with DeLis we can build various applications on networks and realize their flexible execution to provide services satisfying user requests. We show the effectiveness of our proposal by building various applications with DeLis.
