On the Fine Texture of Irradiated Polyethylene.

照射線量の異なるポリエチレンの微細組織の変化を主として広,小角X線回折により追求した。同時に密度および屈折率の測定をも行なった。放射線による変化は密度,屈折率が減少し極小となり,試料も非晶質となる段階,次いで密度,屈折率が増大し,一方X線小角散乱から求めた干渉領域lcの値が急増する段階を経て,密度,屈折率が更に直線的に増加し,小角散乱強度に再び極大が現われる三つの段階に分かれる。これらの変化より放射線による微細組織の変化を考察した。同時に熱処理による構造変化も検討した。
