The Effects of the Rumen Ciliates Dasytricha, Epidinium and Entodinium on Rumen Bacterial Concentrations and Fermentation in Calves

生後4~7カ月齢の子牛を用いて,ルーメン内にプロトゾアが存在しない微生物群(Unfaunated, Unf群),単一のプロトゾアとしてDasytrichaのみ(Das群),Epidiniumのみ(Epi群),Entodiniumのみ(Ent群)をもつ群,EntodiniumとDasytrichaをもつ群(Ent+Das群),および混合プロトゾア(タイプA)をもつ群(Mix群)の6種のルーメン微生物群を作出した.これらの子牛に乾草と濃厚飼料を給与し,ルーメン内細菌および発酵パターンに関しての検討を行なった.生菌数は,Unf群,Das群,Ent群,Mix群,Epi群,Ent+Das群の順に多く,Unf群とEpi群およびEnt+Das群との差は有意であった.デンプン分解菌数は生菌数とほぼ同様の傾向を示した.セルロース分解菌はUnf群,Epi群,Mix群,Ent群,Das群,Ent+Das群の順であった.ルーメン内アンモニア態窒素は採食後1時間目がピークとなり,Unf群で最も低く,Mix群がUnf群と比較して有意に高く,他の微生物群はほぼその中間の値を示した.総揮発性脂肪酸(VFA)濃度は採食後2時間目まで増加し,Unf群が最も低く,Ent+Das群ではUnf群に比べ有意に高かった,VFAのモル比率では,プロトゾアの存在で酢酸は低くなり,プロピオン酸および酪酸は高くなった.また,イソ酪酸およびイソ吉草酸の比率はEntodiniumやDasytrichaのみが存在すると特に低い値を示した.これらより,EpidiniumおよびDasytrichaはルーメン細菌や発酵パターンに対して固有の作用を及ぼすと考えられた.
