Optimization design of molded honeycomb mold based on Pro/Mechanica

Ma Su-chang; Tan Runhua; Liu Xuebin

According to the Pro/Mechanica analysis platform, by the finite element analysis method, the actual mold honeycomb molded forces, boundary conditions and imposed load in the view of the molded honeycomb mold for the actual operating conditions leading to die due to stress concentration fatigue failure, the reliability of the problem of insufficient. Through the analysis to determine the maximum stress and strain of the mold and the largest deformation. Are determined use (Structure) analysis tools for mold sensitivity analysis parameters, select the key parameters to determine the maximum die stress, strain and maximum deformation. Subjecting to satisfactory optimal conditions the finite element technology and structure optimization design combined in order to deduce maximum stress of the die stress region, achieve the minimum of the target parameters - stress, optimize the die structure parameters, solute the die fatigue failures on the condition of the maximum working stress of the mold to meet the allowable stress, meet the actual working condition requirements of the molded mold honeycomb, improve the reliability of the molded mold honeycomb.

Computer Aided Product Innovation Software Based on Extended-Effect and its Application

Cao Guozhong; Guo Haixia; Yu Jiang; Tan Runhua

To effectively support complex product design, effect model in TRIZ (Theory of Inventive Problem Solving) is extended, and E-FBS (Extended-effect driven Function-Behavior-Structure) model is proposed. Computer aided product innovation based on extended-effect (E-CAPI) software is developed. A case study shows that the proposed approach and software are feasible.

Research on Product Technology Evolutionary Potential Mapping System Based on TRIZ

Zhang Jianhui; Tan Runhua; Chen Zishun; Zhang Huangao

Making strategic decisions for product development is one of the toughest jobs that managers of research and development have in enterprises. Identifying EP (evolutionary potential) of product is a crucial step that can give help to this process. The patterns and lines of technology evolution belong to technology forecasting of TRIZ (theory of inventive problem solving) are applied to identify EP of a technical system and help decision-makers to make strategic decisions. This article introduces a searching method for EP and develops the radar plot structure of EP. A process of mapping EP of product based on patent analysis is then formed. Based on these techniques, software named EPMS (evolutionary potential mapping system) was developed. As an illustration the EP of washing machine in China was mapped by EPMS.

UXDs-Driven Contradiction Solving For Conceptual Design Using CAIs

Tan Runhua

Design is situated, which means the explicit consideration of the state of environment, the knowledge and experience of the designer and the interaction between the designer and the environment during designing. Central to the notion of situated design is the notion of design situation and constructive memory. When Computer-aided innovation systems (CAIs) are applied in the design, the environment and the situation are different from the traditional design process and environment. The basic principles of some CAIs in the world market are directly related to theory of inventive problem solving (TRIZ). Special TRIZ solutions, such as 40 inventive principles and the related cases, are medium-solutions to domain problems. The second stage analogy process is used to generate domain solutions and in this process the TRIZ solutions are used as source designs of analogy-based process. Unexpected discoveries (UXDs) are the key factors to trigger designers to generate new ideas for domain solutions. The type of UXDs for the specific TRIZ solutions is studied and an UXDs-driven contradiction solving for conceptual design is formed. A case study shows the application of the process.

TRIZ Application in Conceptual Design of Packaging Machine for Dropping Pill of Chinese Traditional Medicine

Ma Lihui; Tan Runhua; Zhang Huangao; Zhang Xiaohui

In this paper, a conceptual design of packaging machine for dropping pill of Chinese traditional medicine based on TRIZ is introduced. The IFR (Ideal Final Result) of the product is obtained by the evolution patterns of TRIZ. The function structure of the packaging machine for dropping pill is established. The model of substance-field is used to identify the design problem and the design conflicts are confirmed by use of conflict determining diagram. Contradiction matrix and 40 inventive principles in TRIZ are used to solve the conflicts. At last, the conceptual design of packaging machine for dropping pill of Chinese traditional medicine is accomplished, which can guarantee the filling accuracy

Study on a design model for the combined functional periodicity obtaining process

Peng Zhang; Zhonghang Bai; Fang Liu; Tan Runhua

The obstacle is that functional periodicity is difficult to obtain when complexity theory based on axiomatic design is used to eliminate system¿s complexity. There are several kinds of characteristics in the complex problem. It is the key for the characteristics to help designers obtain the simple functional periodicity. But if the features are not obvious or the simple functional periodicity obtained by the characteristics can not eliminate the complexity, the combined functional periodicity should be introduced to eliminate the system¿s complexity. This paper proposes a new design process which combines complexity theory with theory of inventive problem solving (TRIZ). The design process can help designers obtain combined functional periodicity of the system. A case study shows the application of the process.
