Rational development boundaries and main controlling factor of SAGD in oil sand

The development effect of SAGD, which is the most widely used technology nin the development of oil sand, is easy to be restricted by the complex ngeological conditions, such as barrier, lean zones, top water and nso on. Firstly, this paper has studied on the effect of HPVH, barrier, nlean zones and top water on plateau oil of SAGD through analysis on nthe dynamic data of the well pairs in L oilfield and simulation. The ndevelopment boundaries have been further defined. Then, a model between nplateau oil and its affecting factors has been built through nonlinear nmultiple regression method. The results of the model and Butler formula nhave been compared. Lastly, the main controlling factor of plateau noil has been defined through Monte Carlo method. The results show nthat HPVH is the main controlling factor of SAGD plateau oil. The nimpact of affecting factors on plateau oil is sorted into HPVH, thickness nof barrier, thickness of lean zones, well length and thickness of ntop water. The study provides a rational basis for the screening of nproducing reserves and locating of SAGD well pairs in the development nof oil sand.
