A triangle module operator and fuzzy logic based handoff algorithm for heterogeneous wireless networks

Sheng Jie; Tang Liangrui

According to network selection requirements for heterogeneous wireless networks, combining with the advantages and disadvantages of fuzzy logic algorithm, and using information fusion technology,a triangle module operator and fuzzy logic based handoff algorithm for heterogeneous wireless networks is designed in this paper. The proposed algorithm fused the result of the traditional signal strength based algorithm with the quality of service (QoS) parameters based algorithm to achieve the network handoff selection. The simulation results showed that the method overcame the shortcomings of traditional methods, which can not only make a more reasonable choice of network, but also ensure the QoSof the network and effectively reduce the switching frequency and the ping-pong effect.

Measurement of hydrophobicity is not only a main way to evaluate the performance of insulators, but also an important factor to ensure the safety of insulators.A novel hydrophobic measurement algorithm based on information fusion technology is proposed in this paper. By the triangle module operator, the membership function of area ratio and shape factor are fused together to classify the hydrophobicity. The new method could meet the requirements of hydrophobicity detection under field and experimental environment. The test results prove that the novel method overcomes the shortcomings of traditional one and improves the accuracy of measurement of hydrophobicity. As a result, it is suitable for dealing with hydrophobic detection and has wide application prospect.

Image Edge Detecting Based on Gap Statistic Model and Relative Entropy

Yang Qiuxia; Tang Liangrui; Dong Wenting; Sun Yi

Based on Gap statistic model and relative entropy theory, a new edge detecting algorithm is presented in this paper. Firstly, to get the Gap membership functions, a dimensional various Gap plane is established by calculating Gap value per pixel. Then, according to the relative entropy theory, a relative entropy coefficient decision threshold is obtained. Finally, using criterion function algorithm on the Gap plane, edge information is extracted. Experimental results indicate that, compared with the classical Sobel edge operator, the proposed algorithm is not only efficient in extracting edge information but also better in de-noising performance¿

Image Encryption Based on a Four-Dimensional Chaotic System

Tang Liangrui; Li Jing; Sun Yi

An image encryption algorithm based on a four-dimensional chaotic system is presented in this paper, in view of the existing problems in the image encryption. Firstly, the characteristics of the chaotic system are analyzed. This system has more parameters and is more complex than the low-dimensional chaotic systems. The chaotic sequences are improved to be suitable for image encryption. Secondly, a generation method of the binary sequence is reported in accordance with the requirement of the encryption algorithm. Through theoretical and statistical analysis, we can see the binary sequence generated by the chaotic system meets the requirement of the pseudo-random sequence and has the high security. Finally, a mixed airspace encryption algorithm is presented. The chaotic sequences are used to the image encryption. The algorithm has very good effect because of increasing the key space and resisting the exhaustive attacks and statistical attacks.

A New FCM-Based Algorithm of Hydrophobic Image Segmentation

Yang Qiuxia; Tang Liangrui; Qi Bing; Zhang Jing

In order to effectively distinguish the objects from the background, three transition region feature models were taken into account in this paper, including gradient, local complex and local fuzzy variance. Firstly, three transition region feature models were used to distinguish the transition region and the smooth region. Secondly, experimental results signified that every feature models had effects on extracting the objects from the background and each model had some disadvantages on extracting droplets (or watermarks) from hydrophobic images. Finally, these three models were combined together to form the feature domain for Fuzzy C-means clustering (FCM), and then the FCM was applied in segmentation of hydrophobic images. Experimental results illustrated that the proposed algorithm has a great application in segmentation of hydrophobic images, for its efficiency in extracting shape information of droplets (or watermarks).

Application of Information Measure in Segmentation of Hydrophobicity of Insulators

Qi Bing; Tang Liangrui; Zhang Jing

In order to effectively distinguish object from background, three essential characters of edge-points are taken into account, which are consistence, direction and degree information in neighbor pixels. According to these features, firstly, three information measures are proposed to quantitatively depict corresponding characters, which can be represented by gray values, gradient values and similarity degree in neighbor pixels. Secondly, experimental results signify that all the characters have effects on extracting object from background respectively and also show which character has larger influence on extracting droplets (or watermarks) from hydrophobic images. Finally, these three information measures are pieced together to form the feature domain for FCM clustering, which are applied in segmentation of hydrophobic images. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm has great application in segmentation of hydrophobic images, for its efficiency of extracting shape information of droplets (or watermarks).

Electrical optical network RWA algorithm based on prediction and layered graph model

Tang Liangrui; Lou Jia; He Yuan

In the electrical power system, there is a wide range of communication services and service needs, and the realization of differentiated services of different types is quite necessary. Thus, based on the combination of characters and requirements of electric power communication business, this paper makes an argument for a routing and wavelength assignment algorithm based on prediction and layered graph model (PLGMRWA). Through the wavelength number prediction mechanism, it realizes the distribution of wavelength resource according to the needs, and uses the layered graph model to wholly solve the problems of route and wavelength assignment in comprehensive considerations of hops and the usage of wavelength. The simulation results indicate that, algorithm PLGMRWA has advantages of blocking capacity and wavelength resource utilization over algorithms GWAS (Grouped wavelength assignment strategy) and DPWA (Dynamic and priority-based wavelength assignment algorithm) for all levels of business in electrical power communication network.

A novel load balancing algorithm based on binary particle swarm optimization for heterogeneous integrated networks

Zeng Ying; Jiang Kangming; Chen Yuan-yuan; Tang Liangrui

Since existing load balancing algorithms designed for heterogeneous integrated networks have failed to consider the service priority and the network resource sufficiently, a load balancing algorithm based on binary particle swarm optimization (BPSO) is proposed from access control perspective. Firstly, considering different requirements of communication services, the optimization model of the network access control is built. The method sets the maximum entropy of the load rate as the optimization goal. Then, BPSO algorithm is employed to maximize the entropy of the load rate, and the optimal access solution is obtained. Simulation results demonstrate that the services with different priorities are differently served, and loads among the overall heterogeneous system can be effectively balanced. Furthermore, while the service blocking probability can be dramatically decreased, the resource utilization of overall heterogeneous system is greatly improved.
