A synthetic approach to the evaluation of the carrying capacity of complex railway nodes

Gabriele Malavasi; Tatiana Molková; Stefano Ricci; Francesco Rotoli

The evaluation of carrying capacity of complex railway nodes is a typical problem to be faced in metropolitan areas. This paper initially analyzes a few methods (Potthoff methodology, Probabilistic approach and Deutsche Bahn procedure) for the evaluation of carrying capacity of complex railway nodes. The aim of the article is to investigate commonalities and differences among these methods in order to try (even in the continuation of the research) to identify potential margins of improvement or to formulate a new approach to evaluate the use of stations in a synthetic mode, considering the characteristics and the limits of the existing and analyzed models. The results of the theoretical analysis have been validated by means of applications to typical case studies.

THE DETAILED PRIORITY OF INTERNATIONAL FREIGHT EXPRESSES IN THE OVERLAPPING SECTION OF RFC 7 AND RFC 9 KOLÍN – CHOCEŇ

Přemysl Šrámek; Tatiana Molková

The main goal of this article is to research the optimal priority of international freight expresses, especially on European freight corridors. This article shows this problem in the context in the overlapping section of RFC 7 and RFC 9 Kolin – Chocen. There is solved changing priority of freight expresses in detail, whereas other train priorities are the same.

THE PRIORITY OF INTERNATIONAL FREIGHT EXPRESSES IN THE OVERLAPPING SECTION OF RFC 7 AND RFC 9 KOLÍN - CESKA TREBOVA

Přemysl Šrámek; Tatiana Molková

This article deals with the railway traffic control and railway traffic equipment in terms of implementation of TSI. The main goal is to research the optimal priority of international freight expresses, especially in the overlapping sections, which represent critical line sections of European freight corridors. This article shows this problem in the context in the overlapping section of RFC 7 and RFC 9 Kolin – Ceska Trebova. There are mentioned possibilities of using of ETCS and implementation of automatic train paths.
