(1) ビール酵母をM/100~M/10程度のクエン酸緩衝液を添加した合成培地で静置培養すると,その生育のlag timeが延長し,最高生育度も低下した.それとともに培地中に分泌されるUV吸収物質の量も最高で50%余り増加した. (2) この現象は窒素源を硫酸アンモンの代りにカザミノ酸,アスパラギン酸にして培養しても認められた. (3) メチオニンを添加して培養しても著しいUV吸収物質の蓄積があるが,その約半分はS-アデノシルメチオニンであった. (4) 振とう培養では静置培養よりもクエン酸緩衝液添加の影響が顕著に認められた. (5) Mg++欠乏下で培養すると,最高生育度は低下してもlag timeの延長, UV吸収物質の分泌量の増大は認められなかった. (6) ブドウ酒酵母の場合,クエン酸緩衝液添加による増殖抑制, UV吸収物質の分泌促進効果は静置培養ではあまりはっきりしないが,振とう培養では分泌促進に関しては有効であった.
