[Metabolic changes of normal human elements cultivated "in vitro" induced by microsomial cellular fractions of the KB neoplastic strain].

Lenti G; Tortarolo E; Pellegrini A; Pagano Pg

The metabolism of normal renal cells cultivated «in vitro» undergoes several changes following contact with a microsomal fraction of neoplasfie cell of KB strain. This new functional situation is characterised by a decreased O2 consumption and an increased aerobic glicolysis with a diminution of the oxydation/glicolysis ratio. Microsomal fraction of normal renal cells fails to induce any significant change.

Experimental research on the cytostatic effect of various combinations of antimitotics in vitro proliferative elements

Lenti G; Tortarolo E; Musolino G; Girardi F

The action of some associations of cytostatic agents on « in vitro » embryonic cells are studied: chloramine, deacetylcolchicine and 6-mercapto-purine added with hydrocortisone, and 6-mercapto-purine plus chloramine. The effective doses of each drug were always remarkably lower than those wich were found to have the minimal action in previous researches. It is so demonstrated that this association potentiates the activity of the single drugs. The enhancement varies as for the type and intensity in the different experimented associations. The possibility of a therapeutical application of the cytotoxic combinations is discussed. The action of some associations of cytostatic agents on « in vitro » embryonic cells are studied: chloramine, deacetylcolchicine and 6-mercapto-purine added with hydrocortisone, and 6-mercapto-purine plus chloramine.
