We report on efficient generation of continuous-wave squeezed light and second harmonics with a periodically poled MgO:LiNbO(3) (PPMgLN) crystal which enables us to utilize the large nonlinear optical coefficient d(33). We achieved the squeezing level of -7.60+/-0.15 dB at 860 nm by utilizing a subthreshold optical parametric oscillator with a PPMgLN crystal. We also generated 400 mW of second harmonics at 430 nm from 570 mW of fundamental waves with 70% of conversion efficiency by using a PPMgLN crystal inside an external cavity.

Composite structures in GdVO4 single crystals were directly grown by double die EFG method, which enables 3-mm core of Nd:GdVO4 inside 5-mm clad of pure GdVO4. Laser oscillation of our composite was successfully demonstrated.

Core-clad-type composite structures in GdVO4 single crystals were directly fabricated by single-crystal-growth techniques. The double die EFG method enables 3-mm core of Nd:GdVO4 inside 5-mm clad. Laser oscillation in our samples was successfully demonstrated.

10.2 W green light was generated by single pass SHG from quasi CW operated 33 W microchip Nd:YVO4 laser with periodically poled MgO-doped congruent lithium niobate (PPMgLN). PPMgLN length and thickness were 20 mm and 1 mm, respectively.

9.6-W cw green output power from 150-cm3volume was achieved. In order to reduce the package size including intra cavity frequency doubling using LiB3O5, a composite vanadate microchip was directly edge-pumped by diode bars.

We have studied the electro-optic Q-switching on a frequency doubling KTP crystal. It is possible to achieve approximately 1 kW, 6 - 8 ns green pulse generation on diode pumped Nd:YVO4 miniature lasers.
