Approximation by q -Baskakov–Durrmeyer Type Operators of Two Variables

In this study, we investigate approximation properties of q-Baskakov–Durrmeyer type operators with two variables. We give a Voronovskaja type theorem for these operators. In addition, we obtain the rate of convergence for these operators.

Global and Blow-Up Solutions for Nonlinear Hyperbolic Equations with Initial-Boundary Conditions

We consider an initial-boundary value problem to a nonlinear string equations with linear damping term. It is proved that under suitable conditions the solution is global in time and the solution with a negative initial energy blows up in finite time.

Properties of the far-field operator for a multilayered scatterer in acoustic scattering theory

In this paper, we consider the inverse scattering problem which is to determine the shape of a multilayered scatterer. The adjoint of the far-field operator is found. In scattering theory the boundary data are given by the traces of plane waves. The closure of the span of the images of these plane waves under the far-field operator is characterized. Furthermore, taking the affine hull instead of the span of the plane waves on the boundary, some results are obtained.
