Laser welding with filler wire

New applications such as welding of material combinations and the ability to fill opening gaps between the workpieces offer new prospects for laser beam welding processes with filler wire. To guarantee good quality, vertical distance variations between wire tip and weld pool are, above all, not permissible as this causes globular metal transfer and would accordingly result in strongly rippled, unclean welds. A process-internal signal, recorded by a sensor, helps to solve this problem. The automatic tracking of the vertical wire position is possible on-line via a controller. In this way, the running process can be optimized and a consistently good weld quality can be achieved.

Robot application for laser-GMA hybrid welding in shipbuilding

The research project „Development of a three-dimensional laser hybrid welding system for increasing the efficiency and quality of works in the panel line of a shipyard (PaLas)“ which is funded by the BMWi (Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology) is supposed to contribute towards solving the problems of vertical-down and corner welds by applying a robot during fibre laser GMA hybrid welding. Festigkeit von Schweißkonstruktionen

Die Funktion eines Bauteils kann wahrend des Betriebs beeintrachtigt werden. Im schlimmsten Fall kann es zum Ausfall des Bauteils kommen. Mogliche Ursachen fur den Ausfall sind z.B. die Verwendung ungeeigneter Werkstoffe, eine falsche Berechnung, eine unsachgemase Fertigung oder aber eine unsachgemase Nutzung des Bauteils. In der Regel entstehen Schaden jedoch nicht aufgrund einer Ursache allein, sondern sind auf das Zusammentreffen mehrerer ungunstiger Umstande zuruckzufuhren.

Übersicht zur Berechnung von Schweißkonstruktionen

Die Berechnung von Schweiskonstruktionen erfolgt grundsatzlich wie alle anderen Konstruktions- und Verbindungsformen nach den Regeln der Festigkeitslehre. Jedoch gelten daruber hinaus fur viele Bereiche zusatzliche Vorschriften, Normen und Regelwerke, die im Einzelfall unbedingt beachtet werden mussen. So gibt es z.B. spezielle Normen fur den Stahlbau, den Kranbau, den Maschinenbau und viele andere Bereiche.
