In the tourism area, the use of mobile devices brings significant benefits, considering the associated mobility, the instant access and the quality of the tourist information provided. One of the applications in this field is the electronic tourist guide, which provide information to tourists to better enjoy their trip. In this perspective, this work proposes a model that uses mobile and ubiquitous tourism concepts to improve tourist experience. We had developed a prototype for iOS focused on the Caminhos de Pedra tourist itinerary, in Bento Gonçalves / Rio Grande do Sul. Using this prototype, we carried on two evaluations, regarding the ontology proposed and usability. As a result, we could verify that the proposed model helps people to better experience their trips.

Our daily life is presented with more data than we need. Augmented graphic thinking is born in a context that oscillates between infoxication and the wealth of sociabilized information. Creating efficient processes to analyze them in an integrative approach that involves the architectural design, the built environment and the environment, leads decision making towards a performance-oriented architecture. The challenge is to operate towards predictive models integrating algorithmic, heuristic and manufacturing processes. This is how we expand horizons through the instrumental resources of representation, simulation, computational design, digital manufacturing and computational making. The experimentation and systematization of flexible processes and their new instrumental links in the stages of ideation are key to increase the possibilities of an integrative design thinking. The experimental workshops and research developed in three Latin American universities in Argentina and Brazil over a decade of work have demonstrated the exploratory richness underlying the concepts and instruments cited.

Se plantea finalmente que estos nuevos recursos obligan a revisar la accion profesional y educativa Architectural education must develop technical and aesthetic skills in order to elaborate constructions projects. New digital manufacturing machines allow to the creation of material models, a s well as industrialized components creating new capabilities that must be properly integrated into professional teaching. This article discusses the implications of these technologies in the architectural education based on seven academic experiences. The activities were guided by authors in different institutions in Chile, Brazil and Argentina, with different equipments, extensions and contents. These experiments contributed to the learning of constructive subjects, and the relationship of design teaching , motivation and creativity. This study detected the influences of these technologies in the material understanding and design logic, that evolve from the development of global shapes to constructive systems, changing the cognitive condition of design. Thi s article also discusses the industrial and social projection of these technologies in building, since they encourage automation in construction generating productive changes. Finally, it states that these new resources promote a review the work and educat ional activity in architecture, and motivating a more precise elaboration of design’s qualities.

3D digital models allow visualizing spaces and volumes of architectural projects, but sometimes use rs are distant and require sharing the review of models. Several Latin-American institutions are setting up a common strategy to carry out multi-user visits in distant architectural models. This initiative is based on vrml models uploaded in virtual commun ities in internet and on the development of aids to complete and export models with proper features for group tours, including a web-site for coordination of participants and sessions, tests of different platforms, on-line training of visitors and menu pro gramming to allow modifications of the models during the visits. This collective effort has allowed to identify conditions and possibilities for shared review of architectural proposals, encouraging the integration of professional or academic teams.
