79 GHz wideband fast chirp automotive radar sensor with agile bandwidth

In this paper the current progress of automotive radar towards higher bandwidths and more agile waveforms is discussed. In this context both state-of-the-art performance as well as new application opportunities for automotive radar sensors are regarded. Measurement results of a 79 GHz sensor prototype are shown.

Multiband automotive radar sensor with agile bandwidth

The aim of this paper is to describe the current status and future utilization of multi band automotive radar sensors. One of the major struggles is to find a reasonable tradeoff between maximal ambiguity in range and range resolution. The content of the paper consists of the state-of-the-art as well as an application of a new approach using a multiband radar sensor. Measurement results of a multiband automotive radar sensor with agile bandwidth are shown.

79 GHz automotive radar and its opportunities for frequency and bandwidth agile operation

Automotive radar sensors typically apply waveforms with a fixed bandwidth. With the new 79 GHz automotive radar band a huge bandwidth of up to 4 GHz has become available, which is an ideal basis for the application of agile waveforms. This paper discusses an approach towards a frequency and bandwidth agile automotive radar sensor that allows to trade maximum range versus resolution. Measurement results of a 79 GHz sensor prototype are shown.
