Already existing open educational resources in management have a high potential for enterprises to address the increasing training needs of their employees. However, access barriers still prevent the full exploitation of this potential. Users have to search a number of repositories with heterogeneous interfaces in order to retrieve the desired content. In addition, the use of search criteria related to skills, such as learning objectives and skill-levels is in most cases not supported. The demonstrator presented in this paper addresses these shortcomings by federating multiple repositories, integrating and enriching their metadata, and employing skill-based search for management related content.

Michael Schmidt; Uta Schwertel; Christina Di Valentin; Andreas Emrich; Dirk Werth

We present the Social Navigator, an open, Web-based learning platform supporting training of Social Media skills in vocational education. It provides access to a rich pool of resources that enable teachers to integrate Social Media education into the teaching process and offers information and training material to trainees. Designed in an interdisciplinary approach, the Social Navigator builds upon a Social Web skill model, which is used to provide personalized, guided access to resources. Complementary, the integration of Social Web channels stimulates social interaction and helps users to implicitly acquire Social Web skills.

The use of social media in the private context is increasing. However, when it comes to integrate social media into everyday vocational life many persons still lack the necessary skills. One reason is that the training of social media skills is not yet sufficiently integrated into the processes of vocational education. Both, students and teachers would therefore benefit from tailored access to online educational resources (e.g. concepts, training materials, lesson plans, tools etc.) which support their professional use of social media. This paper presents a web-based recommender system, called Social Navigator, providing access to respective educational resources for teachers, trainers and students of vocational education. The system adapts to the social media skills of all stakeholders and recommends appropriate online resources. In doing so, the system helps to individually foster the social media skills of all stakeholders which are classified into the ability to search, select, manage, create, communicate and comment information in the social web. First, the concept of the Social Navigator is explained followed by the filters and rankers that are needed to adjust search and recommendations results according to each individuals social media skill level.

The expected large-scale introduction of electric vehicles creates a need for up-to-date and just-in-time available learning materials and tools. In this paper we demonstrate how a set of web-based and mobile learning and collaboration services support situated learning for e-Mobility and similar domains. The approach is currently developed within the MEMO project.
