A simple electromagnetically coupled wideband printed microstrip antenna having a 2:1 VSWR bandwidth of 38% covering the 5.2/5.8-GHz WLAN, HIPERLAN2, and HiSWANa communication bands is presented. The large bandwidth is obtained by adding a rectangular metal strip on a slotted square microstrip antenna. The antenna occupies an overall dimension of 42 times 55 times 3.2 mm3 when printed on a substrate of dielectric constant 4. It exhibits good radiation characteristics and moderate gain in the entire operating band. Details of the design along with experimental and simulation results are presented and discussed.

In this paper we present a compact circular patch antenna using multiple complimentary split ring resonator(multiple CSRR) in the ground plane. The proposed antenna operates at 2.48GHz. The resonant frequency depends on the parameters of the CSRR. It is fabricated on a substrate of er 4.4 and h 1.6mm.The studies shows that size reduction of 83% is possible compared to standard circular patch antenna working at the same frequency.

This paper presents the design and development of a compact CPW fed quad band antenna. This low profile antenna has a dimension of 32mm×31mm when printed on a substrate of dielectric constant 4.4 and height 1.6mm. The antenna covers GSM 900, DCS 1800, IEEE802.11.a, IEEE802.11.b and HiperLAN2 bands. The antenna exhibits good radiation characteristics with moderate gain.

An Asymmetric Coplanar Strip (ACS) fed uniplanar antenna for wide band applications is presented. The resulting antenna offers a 2:1 VSWR bandwidth greater than 100% from 1.65 GHz to 5.06 GHz covering the DCS/PCS/IEEE 802.11a/WiMAX bands. The antenna has an overall dimension of 44 mm X 35 mm when printed on a substrate of dielectric constant 4.4 and height 1.6 mm. The wide band width is obtained by combining three individual resonances excited by various current paths. The antenna exhibits good radiation characteristics and moderate gain in the entire operating band.
