Results of an X-ray structural study of 2-silver(dimethylaminomethyl)ferrocene are discussed. Joint thermal decomposition of this compound and cymantrenylsilver is shown to produce 2-dimethylaminomethyl-1-cymantrenylferrocene along with coupling products of symmetrical radicals.

Abstract The reaction of Cp2TiCl2 with magnesium in THF in the presence of tolane at a Cp2TiCl2 : Mg : Ph2C2 ratio of 1 : 1 : 1 results in formation of a dark red-brown solution which yields cis-stilbene when treated with HCl in ethanol, the titanacyclopentadiene complex Cp2 TiC(Ph)C(Ph)C(Ph)C (Ph) when treated with tolane, and the organometallic titanoxane [Cp2TiC(Ph)CH(Ph)]2O when treated with water. It is suggested that in the solution the titanocene complex with tolane [Cp2Ti(Ph2C2)], postulated previously as an intermediate in the catalytic hydrogenation of tolane to dibenzyl under the action of Cp2Ti(CO)2 is present. The structure of [Cp2TiC(Ph)CH(Ph)]2O has been established by an X-ray analysis.

In the cation [(π-(C5H5)Fe(π-C5H4)Au2(PPh3)3]+ metal atoms form an Au–Au–Fe chain and one carbon atom of the ferrocene cyclopentadienyl ring acts as a bridge between both gold atoms.

The asymmetric induction in the synthesis of pyrazolines with ferrocenyl and phenylbutadienyliron tricarbonyl substituents is estimated. Diastereomeric selectivity is shown to be sufficiently high both by the induction of a chiral centre by a chirality plane and vice versa. The molecular geometry of diastereomeric 1-acetyl-3-[4-phenylbutadienyliron tricarbonyl]-5-ferrocenylpyrazolines is discussed.

Abstract 1-Ferrocenyl-2-arylcyclopropanes have been synthesized by catalytic thermolysis of ferrocenylpyrazolines. An X-ray diffraction study of trans-1-ferrocenyl-2-p-methoxyphenylcyclopropane isolated in an individual form was carried out.

Abstract The geometries of the molecules of the isomeric N -acetyl derivatives of 3-ferrocenyl-5- p -bromophenyl- and 3- p -bromophenyl-5-ferrocenylpyrazolines-2 with a chiral centre in position 5 of pyrazoline have been determined by an X-ray study.
