Abstract In the crystalline state, the molecular structure of (C 5 H 5 ) 4 Hf may be described as ( h 5 -C 5 ) 2 Hf( h 1 -C 5 H 5 ) 2 , and is thus similar to that of (C 5 H 5 ) 4 Ti but different from that of (C 5 H 5 ) 4 Zr.

The reaction of monoalkyl(aryl)dithiocarbamic acid salts with 4-substituted 2-thiolene and 3,4-disubstituted thiolane 1,1-dioxides gave N-alkyl(aryl)thiolano-[3,4-d]thiazolidine-2-thione 5,5-dioxides, the structure of which was proved by x-ray diffraction studies. 1,1-Dioxothiol-3-en-3-yl esters were obtained with salts of dialkyl(heteryl)dithiocarbamic acids.

In the crystal form of tetrakiscyclopentadienylzirconium, three cyclopentadienyl rings are π-bonded at a mean Zr–C distance of 2·64 A, the fourth ring being σ-bonded with a Zr–C distance of 2·47 A.
