The article discusses a new approach to implementation of a geoinformation environment for the mining geoinformation science problem solution using cloud technologies. In focus are the types of the cloud service as applied to the distributed geomonitoring networking for the wider range problem handling in mining. The authors describe specific structures of software support of the offered approach and exemplify problem solution in various spheres of mining geoinformation science.

The presented geoinformation system is based on cloud service classification of natural and mining-induced seismic events. The data entropy-based models treat seismic signals as functions of a “waveguide” led from a seismic source to a seismic station. The quality similarity or distinction of the models is related with the genesis of seismic events. The service includes Google App Engine cloud calculating technologies, IRIS Data Management Center web-services and local seismic monitoring databases. The application of the cloud service to classifying unknown-genesis seismic events is illustrated by the examples.

The article deals with estimation of snow cover condition and air pollution in areas of fast-paced coal mining. It is suggested to use data of remote earth sensing in winter, and snow cover in this case acts as a survey sheet-indicator of underlying ground contamination. The article exemplifies evaluation of data for a Kuzbass mining area of 100 km2 by snow quality.

The use of the remote earth sensing data in analyzing water bodies situation in areas where vigorous coal mining, including open pit mining, is considered in the article. The authors describe the space image processing procedure and present the revealed changes in the spectral response of water bodies in the images if they contain polluting agents.

The article describes practical application of theory of fractals in analyzing paths of migration of seismic energy release centers in some regions in Siberia. The obtained fractal dimensions of natural and induced seismic events in the Kemerovo Region have been compared, and the distinction between the natural and induced seismic events has been found.

The article offers the entropy method for detecting contamination clusters and anomalous high toxic substance content in water bodies of a mineral mining region in terms of Bunguro-Chumysh district in Kuzbass. Specificity of composition of various water kinds and their ingredients is identified, diagnostic signs of various contamination sources are revealed, integral characteristics obtained from combinations of water ingredients are ranked, and distribution of ingredients in various kind water relative to MAC value is analyzed.

The authors discuss the practice of assessment of mine waste dump surface condition by the remote sensing data. The biomass is defined based on the soil-adjusted vegetation index SAVI. The article presents details of determining zones of soil generation and filling up by vegetation in terms of the operating mine waste dump in Kuzbass.

The article reviews the experience gained in the integrated assessment of the environmental condition of the regions exposed to high industrial load, the basic approaches to satellite image processing and the sequence of analysis of natural components. As an example, the authors assess the environmental condition of a coal mining region in Kuzbass.

The authors present a new, more efficient decision on using information services for cloud computing in geomechanical and geodynamic safety control in seismically active areas. The offered approach is trialed in terms of analysis of seismicity data obtained in the Kemerovo Region between Jan 1, 2006 and Dec 31, 2009, using the method of plotting migration trajectories for a reduced center of seismic energy release, as well as for a spot with an area of 150 km2. The implementation of the developed services together with a cloud hosting enable cutting the time of seismic data processing algorithm.
