On Probabilities of Moderate Deviations

V. V. Petrov

In this paper, we study the asymptotic behavior of the distribution of sums of independent random variables in zones of moderate deviations. Sufficient conditions in terms of moments are given for the normal convergence in these zones. Bibliography: 8 titles.

Journal of Mathematical Sciences | 2003

On the Law of the Iterated Logarithm for a Sequence of Independent Random Variables with Finite Variances

V. V. Petrov

Sufficient conditions are given for the applicability of the law of the iterated logarithm to a sequence of independent random variables having finite variances. Bibliography: 5 titles.
