The conditions and sequences of the phase transitions in the synthesis of laminar perovskite-like titanates AIIn-4 La4 Tin-1 O3n (AII = Ca, Sr) from mixtures of coprecipitated components were determined. The mechanisms for formation of the laminar structure of these products were found to entail three steps and are independent of the number of layers in the perovskite-like blocks and type of precipitating agent.

The Sr<sub>3</sub>LnInSnO<sub>8</sub> (Ln = La, Pr, Nd) and Sr<sub>3</sub>LaScSnO<sub>8</sub> perovskites were synthesized and their structures have been determined by X-ray powder diffraction. The peculiarities of the structures and correlations composition - structure - luminescent properties have been discussed.

The Sr<inf>3</inf>LaTa<inf>3</inf>O<inf>12</inf> layered powdered perovskite-like compounds were obtained by heat treatment of co-precipitated hydroxy-carbonates. Photoluminescent (PL) properties of the Sr<inf>3</inf>LaTa<inf>3</inf>O<inf>12</inf> were investigated at the first time. Strongly overlapped components peaked at 535, 585 and 630 nm compos emission spectra of the materials under study. The luminescent data were analyzed and preliminary assumptions about origin of given spectra have been made.
